“COLOMBIA DEMOCRATIC PARTY” was formed in September 2001 by a Civic Democratic Campaign Partnership. Implemented by the Electoral Commission of Colombia (ECC) and Colombia Institute of Democracy (CID), the Colombia Democratic Party aims to introduce a democratic environment in the country. To stabilize the global presence of Colombia and to set realistic norms and culture, we are here to make a difference. If you want to see the difference with your own eyes, then make the right choice, VOTE FOR US!

Our Policies

We are here to turn over a leaf, to make things right in Colombia. We will make sure revolution takes place, a country to be re-born, where all citizens will walk with no fear and enjoy its claimed rights. We want a country, where our children are not laborers rather than having spades in their hands they should be having books. We want our women to be educated and working for the benefit of the country. Do you want a drug-free country with no crime? Then just take a step and extend your hand towards us and we will show you how the real democracy is run.

Read our policies to be surer about and to be a part of us:

Democracy Is Us

Looking for a peaceful Govt? Then democracy is the right choice for you. Democracy lets the people choose their people to run the country peacefully. You will even have the power to remove the representative if you don’t like their performance.

Democracy ensures equal citizen rights. All measures will be taken to respect your individuality and no unjust treatment will be done by the government.

Democratic rights will be included in the constitution. People of Colombia will have the right to study, have a profession of their wishes, marry, have a family, and celebrate occasions and freedom of speech. You will be given the right to participate, to vote, to join or establish legal political parties, and most of all you will be respected. The constitution will be written and its terms and conditions will not be amended so easily.

Democracy is YOU

  • We cannot function without you. And democracy is all about you. The strength of democracy is known by public support. We plan on creating job promotion and protecting democratic principles and maintaining institutional trust.
  • We would like to improve citizen security within the next two years by 40% by growing the trust in the justice proceedings and congress.
  • We aim at introducing sustainable technical programs, also special attention to be paid to the worker’s rights. Several employee trade unions will be made at different levels to respect their physical integrity.
  • Special concentrations are to be given on welfare as you are our sole responsibility. And we can never turn our back on our people. We will ensure your children get the best of education, you receive the best health and hygiene facilities, clothing and shelter is taken
  • Care off. Adequate employment opportunities are provided. Bills and constitutions will be passed. Your good days are just around the corner.

The stock market will be strengthened, the investment will be made and treasury bonds will be distributed and preserved. Employment opportunities will be created for men, women, and adults. (Hector Mondragon, 2007, 1)

Human Rights

Yes, we feel the pain. We understand the agony you had to go through when several times due to unwanted riots and fights you had to abandon your home and take your family home. It is a sad scenario that past governments have barely helped provided low protection to the people who wish to return homes. We have devised a full strategy to make sure that the families return home safe and sound to their loved ones and live peaceful life.

Strategy for Human Rights

  • We have undergone international support of our friend countries like the US to help us achieve the peaceful target. Together we have chalked out initiatives like “listen for change” which would result in better living conditions and a hygienic environment in the most affected areas of Colombia.
  • We have planned out twenty-two projects out of which seven are currently in operation. With the help of the public, we are establishing schools, enrolling more and more children in the schools, opened emergency shelters, hospital camps, and have made proper arrangements for clean water and sanitation. Altogether the project cost of the first half is 600,000 which we hope to receive after being elected. (UNHCR, 2009, 1)

Fighting Against the Drugs and Crimes

Are you tired of protecting your 12 yr old son from taking drugs? Or are you sleepless in the night due to the fearful thought of so-called “ILL LEGAL SELF DEFENDERS” will barge into your house? Well, the days of worry are over for we have devised a strategy to eradicate both drugs and crimes from the country:

The Dirty Drug War Strategy

  • We have facts showing 30% of the income of the guerrillas comes from the drug trade. A stop will be put on their income by a massive eradication campaign.
  • In the south region where there are 1700 guerillas are dwelling in a lump sum will be removed by military control. Safety measures of the civilian population living in those areas are our topmost priority and we assure you this time no harm will be done to the innocent or your homes and belongings. (Garry Leech, July 2000)

Economically, we will be the Best!!

It is time we look at the natural resources God has gifted us with and we utilize our manpower to boost up our economic system.

Economic Strategy

  • We need to expand our international commerce to make ourselves more popular in the international market. We are already undergoing free trade agreement with the US and its allies to attract foreign and domestic investment. As a result, we will have more employment opportunities, decreased poverty, and a high standard of living.
  • A fiscal strategy will be implemented through which budgets will be relocated and on the domestic market, we will spend to make our market strong locally and to rebuild the lost Colombia heritage in the foreign market.
  • The human development strategy is composed to build schools in remote areas. We promise you will see a promotion in all sectors of Colombia in few years!
  • The pricing issue of coffee will be severally undertaken to make sure the pricing meets international standards. Other energy resources like coal, oil, and emeralds special agencies to be made to see proper functioning of these sectors. (Garry Leech, July 2000)

Freedom of Religion

We assure you, no matter which religion or which color you belong to, you are a part of our country. No tolerance will be bared for those who will try to bother any religious activity in our country.

Efforts are being made to avoid Religion Oppression.
Efforts are being made to avoid Religion Oppression.

Religious Freedom Campaign

  • Constitutional norms will be made to show freedom of religion in the country. The govt. will make special efforts to guard your right of practice whichever religion you have faith in.
  • No terrorist organization involved in activities of abducting, killing, or torturing religious leaders or practitioners will be tolerated. Our party considers religious freedom as a part of human rights and we cannot tolerate religious discrimination.

Christians are allowed to enjoy national holidays on days off: Epiphany Day, Saint Joseph Day, Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter, the Ascension, Corpus Christi, Sacred Heart Day, Saints Peter and Paul Day, Feast of the Assumption, All Saints’ Day, the Immaculate Conception, and Christmas. (Religious Freedom Report, 2006, 1)

The Military Power

We want us to be strong, to be able to defend ourselves not only from within the country vultures but from outside threats too. And for that, we need to make our military so strong that countries shiver from the name of Colombia. For ages Govt’s have promised us a strong force but we always see our homes being torn apart. Not this time. Let us show you what we have in store for our military:

A strong military strategy

  • Our country for decades has been inviting the US to come and fight for our land. Each time the Govt. is criticized we have a different strategy planned. Rather than. US army coming to our land, they should assist us in weapon mechanisms and army training so that our boys are can fight for their land. And in return, we can offer price discounts to the US.
  • International support would be needed to enhance our security expertise.
  • Ministry of Defense will make arrangements to excel our forces into logistics, personal training, mission accomplishment education, intelligence techniques, and corruption eradication methods.
  • Budgets will be reallocated to enhance military and police coordination and crime-fighting activities. More planning is to be done to make funding available for reforming of justice panel.

We aim to make Colombia ready for all the challenges and maintaining strong military relations with the US to seek stability in the concerned regions. (Army Sgt. Sara Wood, 2007, 1)

Judiciary Rule in the country

Worldwide Judiciary System has picked up fame, we do have a judiciary system but we all know the reality about it. Our first aim is to correct the ways of the judiciary, by all means, necessary and we hope for your support to accomplish this mission.

Judiciary Improvement Program

We have decided to run a judiciary improvement program which will be like a learning phase initiated by the Govt. of Colombia. This project will start from initial testing trying to improve the services rendered during court operations.

This program is mainly targeting the courts available in rural areas, up till now 32 courts have shown interest and want us to come and revise their organizational patterns. The revision would include polishing their services, making their capabilities more productive, improving the court structure and facilities along expanding the information system platform. This campaign will be further promoted by the media to invite other necessary parties including the general people to participate. (Judicial Conflict Resolution Improvement Project, 2008, 1)

Our Workers are our Honor

Yes, our workers no matter in which profession they are involved in, are our pride. Colombia’s history is rich in letting the workers down and giving them the treatment they deserver. But now things will change. Labor reforms will be introduced in the constitution and the judiciary government will see that they are implemented at all costs.

Better Labor Reforms

All the workers out there it is time to cheer up, as we are bringing new and better work reforms which will give you fewer working hours, more productivity, higher pays, and golden benefits. The reforms would include:

  • We strive to increase the total employment by 45% creating employment opportunities by convincing local people to set up their businesses. All facilities will be funded to the personals.
  • Pension reforms are to be introduced covering both retirement age and replacement factors. Whereas, retirement age is fixed by 79 for females and 84 for males, after their retirement they are entitled to pension along with other benefits.
  • The current Govt. has increased the payroll taxes, we propose to you higher wages with low payroll taxes to ensure more saving resulting in more investment. The share of contribution between the workers and the firms also needs firm structuring.
  • If a laborer is harmed on his work then the firm is entitled to pay 65% of his bill and the worker 25%. (Sergio Clavijo, 2009, 13)

Columbian Tourism

Our country is beautiful, ever thought how much attraction it holds for the tourist. We can increase the number of foreign bodies coming into our land by paying attention to our lavishing sights. We care for our country and we know more holidaymakers mean more foreign exchange and more employment opportunities for the locals.

A Developing Strategy for Tourism

We need to establish and nourish our tourism for that we need a strategy, our administration has just thought of the perfect approach which would take our locations to the world’s most desired ones.

  • An institutional management committee of tourism to be made, It would supervise and look after technical and financial aspects of the industry.
  • Its objectives include the development of infrastructure of both rural and urban areas in a balanced manner.
  • A consultancy program to be initialized would look after planning, project designing, marketing, and training.

Due to limited resources, we invite you all to come and work with us and act as a catalyst in development. Preliminary the investment would be low but with more deals with other countries are tourism economy would soon start boosting. (Figueredo Molina, R. M., López Bandera, H. E, 2006, 1.)

Who are we? We are made by you and we are for you. Gone are the days, when we have to live in fear of the guns present in our country. Somebody has to come forward with a rigid policy to eradicate them and at the same time ensure social peace; we are the ones who can do this. It is time we stand up and show our capabilities to the world. we all deserve to breathe freely on our land and express our desires and wishes. We can make your dreams come true, where every individual walks free and is independent. Just remember we need your support to make the difference and to make our dreams convert into realities and for that, we need your votes. Your vote does make a difference, so do vote for us and then see the smooth ride taken to your prosperity and success!
