Starbucks policies contain several aspects, and those that involve employee appreciation and collaboration inspiration stand out. For example, Starbucks always refers to its staff members as partners (Starbucks, n.d.). This practice emphasizes how every single individual embodies more than just regular employees, regardless of whether they work in enterprise or store locations. This simple bit of information can improve employee morale within the firm and provide the feeling of being a central character and having an impact on the company’s success. However, it is not only the corporation that views employees as the most important. Coworkers share this culture and are deeply committed to the goal of being there for one another. This sense of collaboration is crucial in the process of bolstering teamwork.

Nevertheless, there are several areas of Starbucks’ working environment that deserve attention. As such, Starbucks emphasizes the value of collaboration among its workers, but its training does not address one of the critical elements of effective teamwork, which is communication. To improve the working conditions of the employees, the company could provide more insights and learning opportunities for its workers in terms of communication. Communication between employees is essential because it enhances employees’ morale, involvement, efficiency, and satisfaction (Cui, 2021). Communication is also essential for improved team coordination and partnership. Finally, efficient workplace communication contributes to better outcomes for individuals, groups, and businesses.

The communication training for employees should concentrate on three distinct methods of communication. Listening skills, compassion, conciseness, interpretation, diplomacy, and connection are examples of effective verbal or oral communication. Practical verbal communication training should highlight attentive listening, upbeat tone, open-ended questions when appropriate, optimism, thinking before speaking and responding with empathy and enthusiasm without judgment (İhtiyaroğlu, 2019). Non‐verbal skills include body posture, facial expression, emotion regulation, and awareness. For example, it is valuable to teach employees to maintain relaxation, avoid straightening their bodies or crossing their arms, and keep eye contact when talking and listening. Finally, written communication is often ignored in line staff positions, but it is nonetheless essential. Training employees in the described ways of communication will improve their workplace relationships and teamwork.

The other way to provide a better environment for Starbucks employees is to improve workplace diversity. A diverse workplace is the deliberate employment of employees from diverse backgrounds. Diversity involves a mix of people of various ages, genders, religious origins, cultures, habits, and other characteristics (Roberson, 2019). Workplace diversity is crucial because it allows people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives to work together to solve challenges and create progress in the workplace. Diversity broadens the emphasis of a workplace, allowing for the introduction of new ideas and practices. Moreover, increasing workplace diversity may assist in enhancing the overall culture and make the organization a more attractive place to work. Finally, a varied team can better address challenges from many angles.

The first step in improving workplace diversity is to examine the organization’s present makeup and culture. Comparing the company’s racial, ethnic, and gender composition to the local population is an excellent method to start this analysis. The community can provide a goal for the varied demographics the firm can strive to attain. After the company has studied its composition and culture, it may devise a strategy for increasing workplace diversity. Starbucks might begin by looking for methods to make the recruiting process more equitable for all applicants and friendly to diverse prospects. Finally, the company can use employment boards for certain segments of diverse applicants. Posting open positions on these sites increases the likelihood that skilled, diverse candidates will be interested in working for the firm.

Furthermore, there are several recommendations regarding the improvement of customers’ experience for Starbucks. The company must improve its service speed to increase client satisfaction and sales. This refers to how long it takes the cafe employees to serve their guests. There are several methods for restaurants to improve their service speed while reducing their losses due to failure to meet customer expectations. Cafe management can identify potential product customer orders in advance and schedule personnel by estimating sales and demand. This is critical for increasing service speed since it ensures that the cafe has adequate inventory and workers to fulfill client requests. The latest point-of-sale platforms with predicting features help expedite the forecasting process by giving restaurateurs precise data updates on purchases, which they can utilize to improve scheduling, decrease expenses, and maintain ideal inventory levels.

Management should extensively teach cashiers how to handle the point-of-sale program to ensure that purchases are accurately typed in and activities are appropriately processed. Supervisors can give new staff hands-on training by allowing them to practice using the point-of-sale system and leading them into their first client transactions. With extensive training, store employees will be ready to finalize purchases more effectively and promptly fix point-of-sale difficulties, decreasing customer service waits. When scheduling staff, restaurant management should evaluate their skills and put them in areas where they will flourish so that to provide the best customer experience.
