The CEO (Chief Operating Officer) is an essential figure within an organization. Chrissy Taylor is the CEO of Enterprise Holdings, which was founded in 1957 by the Taylor Family (“Chrissy Taylor,” 2021). Being the fourth CEO in the company’s history, Taylor has 21 years of experience in the firm, serves on the corporate board, and has considerable awards among world-renowned women executives (“Chrissy Taylor,” 2021). She joined Enterprise Holdings in 2000 through Management Training Program and became the CEO in 2020 (“Chrissy Taylor,” 2021). It appears that in managing the company, Taylor pays more attention to transformational leadership, which focuses on enabling people to do exceptional things and produce organizational change and results (Kinicki & Williams, 2020).
Enterprise Holdings encourages the employees to perform better by continuously offering high-quality training and providing opportunities to advance careers promptly (“Economic impact,” n.d.). As the firm prioritizes quality improvement and training, one can argue that Taylor is quite successful based on principles of total quality management (Kinicki & Williams, 2020). Although she was promoted to being the CEO relatively recently, Taylor has sufficient background and is interested in enhancing employees.
Furthermore, Enterprise Holdings hires and supports people from various communities. The corporation has established a diverse and inclusive workplace regarding the process of hiring and retaining, providing customer service, and interacting with business partners (“Diversity,” n.d.). The firm offers diversity, equity, and inclusion training for employees to handle critical conversations, address inclusive leadership, and manage unconscious bias (“Diversity,” n.d.). Enterprise Holdings’ endeavors appear effective, as the company employs more than 75,000 people and has considerable initiatives (“Diversity,” n.d.; “Economic impact,” n.d.). Moreover, the CEO impacts the organization’s efforts by participating in the development of an actionable plan meant to facilitate changes inside and outside the firm (“Diversity,” n.d.). The staff and the leadership team of Enterprise Holdings aspire to provide opportunities for people from minority groups.
