Notably, ExxonMobil is a company that I would be proud to become a part of in the future. ExxonMobil, one of the world’s major publicly-listed energy suppliers and chemical manufacturers, manufactures and deploys next-generation technologies to help fulfill the world’s expanding demand for energy consumption and high-quality chemical products safely and responsibly (ExxonMobil, n.d.). The current vision statement is “Fueling the world safely and responsibly” (ExxonMobil, n.d., para 2). Vision and mission statements are both founded on an organization’s underlying ethical ideals and are critical to its success since they provide direction. Nonetheless, long-term goals that establish where the business wants to go in the competitive landscape are driven by vision statements (Bowen, 2018). Therefore, the vision statement could be modified to “Influencing the future of energy via cutting-edge innovation and diverse, inclusive, and collaborative culture.” The fundamental questions are answered below:
- What do we do? – Our company explores oil and gas production globally, as well as research and development of unique and innovative technologies that will drive global economies while mitigating climate change concerns. ExxonMobil’s objective is to provide energy solutions and technologies while improving the environment and society.
- What does success look like? – The success for us is to ensure a brighter future for the world population by solving environmental and energy challenges. We seek to generate consistently excellent operating performance while maintaining high standards of ethics.
- How must we act to ensure success? – We must be concerned with broader social and environmental concerns, not simply those that affect our profit margins. Moreover, we will attract clients that share our principles and values. Furthermore, we should value our employees by cultivating an open and varied culture in which each individual may work collaboratively and contribute to the organization’s success.
