In modern-day ever changing reality, it is important for us to always be critical of research that is presented to us. This is explained by the abundance of external factors affecting the results of research studies presented to the audience. One of the main peculiarities of the external factors is in their ambiguous nature because they are difficult to predict and control. It also happens that a measure of bias both intentional and unintentional one can be shown by the researchers who make their investigations. Some of the resent changes affecting research studies and researchers in Canada seem to be an important step ahead to cope with the undesirable phenomena in the area of investigation. Overall, the situation in Canadian research area can be evaluated as significantly improving, but this does not mean that critical approach is no more an option for approaching the results of research studies which is explained by the effects of the unpredictable external factors.

Among the ambiguous and difficult to predict external factors which affect the results of research studies are surveillance data, loss control considerations, stakeholder input, political shifts, new or modified legislation regulations and policies, commodity prices and global economic conditions, technology changes, and even natural disasters. All of those factors and even more other factors significantly shift the results of investigations conducted by specialists. For example, surveillance data may be collected with a measure of bias. This is what often happens in medical establishments; and the most upsetting is the fact that such bias is caused by the negligence of specialists conducting research studies. In particular, among the most significant problems found by inspectors in medical questionnaires are ambiguous questions, complex and lengthy questions, questions that are made up of two or more questions, sensitive questions, technical jargon, uncommon and difficult words, and vague words. As a result of such language in medical questioners, common people are not able to provide adequate answers. Hence, the results of research studies affected by such external factors as surveillance data inaccuracy are not trustworthy at least to a certain extent.

Taking into consideration the issues that are rife in connection to research studies and the external factors affecting them, the specialists in new policies development made considerable changes in research technologies in Canada. I am also concerned about this reformation because even though most of such changes are quite fair and are definitely beneficial, it feels that some mistakes occurred. I only hope that further improvement will follow in new research policies which will balance the results of studies. During the current period, addressing some articles that describe social case studies and investigations, I have a critical approach because I understand that the effects of the external factors are not fully incorporated into new research data evaluation strategies developed in Canada.

In conclusion, it should be stated that in modern-day ever-changing reality, research studies are affected by the external factors such as surveillance data, loss control considerations, stakeholder input, political shifts, new or modified legislation regulations and policies, commodity prices and global economic conditions, technology changes which are hard to predict and control. This is the reason why the results of those studies should be approached critically. Despite significant improvement in the area of research studies’ concepts, I believe it is still important to be critical about the findings of current investigations.
