Thesis Statement
Every organization or firm is unique in its culture because they have different personalities.
Introduction
Culture management can be defined as the process of managing the personality of a firm or an organization. Every firm or organization has a personality that it has enforced of which the members of the employees are required to follow. There are particular principles that a firm or an organization sets so as to guide them in the management of their culture (Elmore120).
Essay
In any organization, it is important to apply these principles because it enhances the efficiency in working and productivity is desirable (Fair & Lighter 389). The principles are as follows:
Division of work
This is where a person or a team is assigned to take over a certain workload that they have specialized in. When work is divided into different people it takes lesser time to do it because here the person is doing what they are good at (Sisk 664). In this case, we are defining a health care institution like a hospital, there are different departments. We have the nurses, doctors, and pharmacists.
Discipline
This refers to obedience, conducting oneself properly in relation to other people, and respecting those in authority (Terry 579). In our particular setting, the employees should be disciplined by working according to the regulations of the hospital. Rather, it is very important for the efficient functioning of the hospital (Kazmier 245).
Equity
In any organization, all employees are entitled to receiving equal rights. In our hospital, it is just fair to give the employees what they deserve (Goldsmith 352). It is not right that my knowledge of particular employees means that they receive a higher payment than the rest; because that would be an injustice. Those in management should therefore treat all employees fairly (Elmore 124).
Espirit de corps
In any organization, it’s important that the managers ensure and develop the morale for working either individually or even communally. They should create a good relationship with the employees because how they do their work depends on the treatment they get from those in charge (Sisk 667). If the management in a hospital does not show concern towards the doctors and the nurses, they will not do their work as required. Team spirit it is noted creates precedence for good workmanship (Kazmier 253). The employees will be able to trust the management through understanding how they relate. If the aforementioned relationship is good, then the relationship between the hospital staff and the patients will also be good. This it is noted provides a conducive environment for work (Goldsmith 361).
Remuneration
Employees should be paid their salaries at the right time and if need be they should receive promotions where they deserve. This acts as a basis for their motivation because they will have the morale to work hard and thus higher productivity of the hospital (Elmore 128). The nurses and the doctors will eventually provide good services to the patients and this will make the patients have a positive attitude about the hospital. The patients will always want to get their services from there and hence the productivity of the hospital will be high.
Conclusion
It is essential for any organization to apply these principles of management because this is what will set a personality or culture-oriented paradigm for the organization. An organization without a personality will not have a direction towards the goals they have set to achieve.
