Introduction
The United States of America is a great nation across the world. The founding fathers were instrumental in ensuring that the right approaches were adopted to shape the nation. They held that morality, knowledge, and religion were important in achieving the objectives of a united country. This paper discusses whether the beliefs can still be applied in modern America.
Discussion
It is important to note the founders were moral, knowledgeable, and religious. Thus, they wished that the future generations would also be exemplified by such attributes. One of the founders was Thomas Jefferson. The man had good moral characteristics, exemplary knowledge, and religion. Thus, the attributes were essential to make him a leader who could shape the future of the country. Frank Lambert, The Founding Fathers and the place of religion in America 65 (2010).
It is documented that the founders considered that America could be developed on a platform that was typified by honor, integrity, and freedom of expression. These are some of the attributes that were critical to ensuring that citizens were equipped with the right abilities to help them to build their young homeland. It was widely held that religion could make the homeland have people who respected their God and adhered to religious teachings. Frank Lambert, The Founding Fathers and the place of religion in America 65 (2010). About Christian principles, it would be expected that religious people would be honest and trustworthy. Trust was vital to make people believe that they were being led in the right way.
The same beliefs and principles have been important to achieving high levels of diversity in America. However, although there are high levels of religious diversity in the nation, citizens would want to be led by moral and knowledgeable persons. The founders of this great nation believed that they would inspire citizens. Notably, the constitution was developed on the platforms of religion, morality, and knowledge among various participants. Mark Beliles & Douglas Anderson, Contending for the constitution 45(2005). Many people believe that God was instrumental to guide and inspire the people who were aiming at giving America the set of laws. Antony King, The Founding Fathers v. the People 34 (2012).
Conclusion
In conclusion, the exemplary knowledge that was exhibited by the founding fathers was instrumental in ensuring that they adopted the best approaches to leadership. Most of the leadership strategies that were utilized at the time of establishing the country were not geared toward selfish gains. Were it not for the prudent leadership skills, America could have stagnated in many sectors of the economy. Thus, the same principles that were adopted by the founding fathers could be used in the religiously diverse America to foster growth and prosperity.
