Introduction

The juvenile justice system is currently facing many challenges, which may end in crisis if precautions are not applied in time. As one of the consultants of juvenile justice, I have examined carefully and predicted the fate of the juvenile justice system. If we do not make a changes in the system in serving and seeing that the well-being of the fellow citizens is maintained, the situation will be even worse. I have created a proposal to the state legislature on matters concerning the future of the juvenile system (Siegel & Welsh, 2011).

Legislative proposal

I want to address the private sector or the privatization involvement in the future juvenile system. I think the juvenile system will be in a better position if we contract some of the public services; garbage collection, health care, law enforcement, education, fire protection, prisons, public transit systems, construction, airport operations, and others, to private providers by the local, state or federal governments. We have had many financial problems in operating the services and the citizens are not pleased with all. The protests, the critics and many other complaints that they provide almost every day should not be assumed. The juvenile system is supposed to ensure that their well-being is maintained or improved (Roberts & Springer, 2007).

Handling all these facilities and with the poor management and financial problems will not do any better. We all know that privately operated facilities can do or deliver comparable or even better services at a lower cost than public operated facilities. They can provide a wide variety of services because they are selective and flexible. Therefore, the company should delegate some services to the private sector.

I am putting more emphasis on education facilities, which many citizens are criticizing for being ineffective and inefficient. We are all aware that the performance in schools has been declining every single term. I agree with the critics of the fellow citizens because it has been a while now without making some adjustments in the field of education. The population is growing, but what steps have the juvenile system taken to do away with the congestion of pupils in classes with the view teachers to teach them? The class of school dropouts and incompetency of teachers is being experienced every day. We all know that the juveniles who are unlearned end up engaging themselves in criminal activities. They offend frequently and commit violent and serious offenses (Carlson & Garrett, 2006).

Many schools will be opened by contracting education facilities to the private sector. The public schools need to be authorized and encouraged to contract with private schools in providing educational programs for the young generation, which the Department of Juvenile Justice can put in place. In starting these private schools, the capital can be sourced through funding of locals, state or federal funding. Cases of school dropouts will end because the management will ensure that all citizens have no excuse for failing to go to school. Teachers without employment will secure themselves employment hence, through privatization, jobs will be created. Performances in schools will improve due to stiff competition between private and public schools.

Conclusion

Through privatization, there are many achievements, which can be reached in the education sector. Other than being cost-effective, involving privatization will provide job opportunities for teachers and give every citizen a chance to get educated. Privatization will help the juvenile justice system to engage the ideas of people in creating a better tomorrow. Critics and protests will end because the well-being of citizens will be maintained and improved.
