Over the decades, society viewed the female gender as an inferior sect in the community hence the emergent issues of imbalance in the system. One of the major challenges encompasses the legalization of homosexuality in America. As a female, I have built friendships with colleagues of different sexuality and belief structure. My association with the people identified as gays and lesbians is a matter that led to the emergence of conflicts and confrontations with religious leaders and family members. My community’s location and identity appreciate heteronormativity. It refers to the conviction by the community members that sexual orientation regards female and male relationships. It is a concept that Sullivan (2003) appreciates arguing that the social reconstruction views same-sex entanglements as sin, crime, and sickness. Gender equality is a concept that is challenged by the emergent of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community.
The concept of heteronormativity significantly affects the quality of associations among individuals across the society mainly because of the traditional belief system. In a research done by Chaney (2018), the researcher argues that the conservative nature of British society plays a crucial role in the promotion of male-female marriages and engagements. The researcher further establishes that although the Britons provide social institutions to promote justice, the conventional framework disregards dynamic sexual orientation. Chaney (2018) indicates a narrative that I encounter while advocating for the LGBT society. During the campaign, a significant percentage of the community members confront my resolution while establishing that it is essential to appreciate the traditional practices and the concept of heteronormativity. On one occasion, my parents grounded me for attending a party arranged by homosexuals. Their argument engulfed the importance of appreciating the socio-cultural mainframe of heterosexuality in addition to the retention of the positive public image.
The primary disparities of gender equality within the dimension of sexual orientation emerge from the heteronormative concept. Rich (1984) focuses on the challenges of women while fighting for their rights as correspondent citizens. The researcher depicts that although the institutional framework appreciates the distinct gender roles to enhance peace and prosperity, the social constructions foster cultural issues. On the one hand, the identification of socio-cultural foundations fosters a profound identity among persons from different racial backgrounds. On the other hand, the contrast is a barrier to the evolutionary trend under a particular ideology. As a woman, the main hurdle I overcome is skepticism especially in the aspects of relationships. As a student, I interact with individuals from various racial backgrounds thus learning the diverse cultural beliefs and practices. Different people utilize dynamic values within the social mainframe such as the allocation of duties among men and women. One of the consistent and primary duties of a female is reproduction. Giving birth is an essential factor in human society mainly because it establishes certainty in the continuation of generations. However, it is challenging under the spectral view of homosexuality. Community elders consider LGBT as a threat to the global population due to the issue of reproduction. Duncan et al. (2019) postulate that children act as a futuristic symbol to a tribe hence the relevance of heteronormativity. As a result, it is difficult to define the significance of homosexuals without the justification of generational gaps. Nevertheless, diversity of sexual orientation is a mainframe that renders the opportunity to handle gender equality matters.
The prominent solution to the conflicts between conventional and modern societal views about homosexuality encompasses sex education. Effective studies and enlightenment across the global societies foster the baseline remedy to the significant influence of heteronormativity. On the one hand, the incorporation of sexual orientation as a personality entity within the academic curriculum and civic coaching enhances the appreciation of socio-cultural values. On the other hand, the foundation of the tuition about the LGBT community risks assimilation and contrast to the moral and ethical practices. Although Ray and Parkhill (2021) depict that the integration of disparities in gender identity within the schooling phenomenon countermeasures the key issues, I challenge the concept based on the aspect of the aesthetic value. Despite my participation in promoting egalitarianism, I have engaged with homosexuals and realized that the key problem to solve includes perception. Members of the gay and lesbian society seek retribution under the framework of the belief system. Therefore, it is important to engage the individuals in the forums to develop the learning concepts with the aim of addressing the necessary issues.
It is important to establish the main variables causing the differences between the LGBT and traditional communities. The conflicts between the two groups form the course of gender equality issues. In this case, the emergent topical mainframes enshrine heteronormativity, reproduction, religious beliefs, cultural practices, and the essence of diverse sexual orientations. Rich (1984) indicates that women face the challenge of retribution mainly because of the norm that they form the inferior sect.
