Introduction

The following study is an attempt to prove the existence of God and evil. Whether or not God and evil exist is arguably a major issue of concern to many people in the world. The existence of evil somehow proves the existence of God. Good and evil people internalize life differently.

The coexistence of God and evil forms the basis of natural religion. The society also defines God and evil in its own way. Based on the assessment of what is good and evil, there is no logical evidence of the presence of God and evil.

Existence of God

Life is a rational process with a definite beginning and end. The chronological order of life’s events is a sure proof that human life not only begins at a given point but also ends at another. There must be a divine force that gives impetus to life’s happenings.

God, the naturally presumed source of life acts as a mediator between good and evil. He is also assumed to be the giver of life. The existence of evil is sometimes interpreted to mean that God does not exist.

According to Parley’s argument on natural theology and acquisition of knowledge through experience, the principle order of acts, the presence of objects in given positions such as watches or stones happen after being made to.

This is evidenced by Parley’s explanation of the laws of animal and metallic nature that reinforce the fact that things are made to happen. Formation of human moral sense and skills of distinctive designer are unique concepts that are inspired by a supreme being who is God.

The rational understanding of the existence of God is complicated by David Hume’s argument that there is no proven evidence that a powerful, wise and good God exists. Hume also argues that God is not rationally comprehensible.

Regardless of how seriously an individual may refute or acknowledge the existence of God, it is clear that there is a distinctive source of life. It is notable that the existence of God is not dependent on whether or not evil deeds exist but rather on the degree to which people can prove the existence of both good and evil.

Sadly, God is not physically present. God’s existence is arguably a phenomenon that does not adhere to the common social constructs and is not based on whether or not he is good or bad. God’s existence is based on the fact that human life has a unique origin and source.

This source of life is definitely from a supreme being that transcends human life. God’s existence is therefore self evident in human life, theological arguments and the existence of a superior being that is responsible for various happenings in the universe.

Existence of evil

Logically, a good act can only be appreciated with the understanding that evil acts do exist. The existence of evil does not relate to whether or not God exists. In fact, evil deeds are not dependent on human judgment of good and evil but rather on the existence of humanity. It is reasonable to state that there is evil in the world due to the many challenges, problems and increasing tribulations faced by people.

The problems could as well be erroneous acts that totally contradict what the society considers to be good. In line with the hypothesis of indifference, it can be argued that whenever there are good actions, bad actions also exist. The existence of evil originates from the fact that evil deeds could easily contribute to the occurrence of bad acts.

This is a sure proof of the fact that gratuitous wrong doings do exist. This argument supports the rational belief of the existence of supernatural beings that are very indifferent and closely interlinked to gratuitous iniquity. Indeed, this is logical proof that both evil and good deeds do exist in equal measure. Additionally, undesired behaviors and actions deviate from the normal way of life and people’s ethical norms and values.

Logical conclusion

As evidenced in the above analysis, it is true that both God and evil exist. One needs to develop a personal understanding of how the two manifest themselves in people’s lives. Although logically proven more so in religions, the existence of God is true while that of evil is dependent on the manner in which a person conducts himself or herself.

Human origin, creation of people and daily happenings are unique. This leads to the proof that human beings were formed by God. The laws of logic and non-contradiction do not dispute the fact that God and evil cannot coexist in the universe. Like evil, the existence of God is not dependent on the presence or absence of good in society.

Instead, God’s existence is proven by the logical manner in which people address their tribulations not only through faith but also through reasoning. In conclusion, there is no contradiction between the existence of God and evil since the two are not an illusion but rather, a reality
