Introduction
Nursing sector proposes a variety of models which follow different approaches in treating their clients. The task of finding an appropriate facility might be difficult. Thus, the study is dedicated to analyzing such nursing models as Eden Alternative, Green House, and Wellspring.
Eden Alternative
Eden Alternative is a program the aim of which is to deteriorate the feelings of helplessness, loneliness, and boredom among the people who live in nursing homes. The statistical study of such parameters as hope, quality of life, will to live, contentment, and faith has shown that people who stay in Eden facilities perform significantly better results than those who don’t get such aid. Comparing of Eden with other facilities shows that the results for Eden are slightly higher than those of others. At the same time, the researchers have found out that the staff working in the mentioned facilities was joyful and compassionate (Kubsch, Tyczkowski, & Passel, 2018). The philosophy of the Eden Alternative campaign explains the helpfulness of the team.
Green House model
The study that explored the intensity of daily activities of the patients in Green House facilities identified that the functions of patients show a tendency of deterioration. The difference between regular facilities and Green House models were not revealed (Yoon, Brown, Bowers, Sharkey, & Horn, 2016). The researches report that the reasons for it are inappropriate nursing and the lack of rehabilitative or supportive care. At the same time, the staff was reported to be poorly engaged in nursing activities. Some good factors, such as private rooms and bathrooms, as well as a common dining area, were also reported though.
Wellspring Nursing Model
Wellspring houses operate already for decades and show stable results in patients’ satisfaction. Compared to traditional nursing houses, Wellspring residents have a better quality of living and closer interactions with the nursing staff. The cost of using Wellspring facilities is generally lower than that of other nursing houses.
Conclusion
In my opinion the issue of providing adequate nursing facilities is a crucial issue in the life of society. Comparing Green House, Eden Alternative, and Wellspring nursing models, I can say that by many parameters the Eden model overtakes its competitors. This is probably linked with a person-centered philosophy of the project that increases the quality of life of the patients who stay in Eden facilities.
