A decline in physical functions is a common feature for older aged adults. There are ways that individuals can use to reduce the negative physical consequences associated with old age. One of the first steps is to start exercising daily or within a specific schedule. Being physically active can impact the bones and muscles positively (Santrock, 2018). This is essential because strong bones and muscles indicate that a person is healthy. The 30-year-old patient can start by identifying the exercises that can help in enhancing the physical aspects and then create a plan.

The other way of reducing negative physical consequences is to change the diet. Consumption of foods that are highly processed can have a significant effect on the physical aspects of an individual (Magkos et al., 2020). Fast foods offer quick options for most people but can lead to obesity and other health issues. The right diet information can be accessed by consulting a nutritionist. People are advised to eat a variety of foods and consume less salt, sugar, and saturated fats. A balanced diet ensures that the body has the necessary energy to function effectively (Magkos et al., 2020). Therefore, a balanced diet can ensure that a person does not decline physically.

The other aspect that can work is to ensure that the 30-year-old has enough sleep every day. Sleep is an important part of a healthy life because during sleep the body rests and regains energy (Santrock, 2018). This helps the body to maintain healthy brain function and enhance physical health. Inadequate sleep increases the risk of long-term health problems such as high blood pressure. Therefore, having enough sleep every day can result in better physical fitness during old age.
