Introduction
The concept of wellness has a long history of development influenced by various trends. For example, these ideas are rooted in 3,000-1,500 BC when Hindu Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine developed (Global Wellness Institute, 2019). I consider the emergence of Ayurveda as one of the critical historical events that can explain modern society. Mainly, I think it is essential due to the introduction and popularization of meditation.
Discussion
Meditation includes techniques and methods that help to relax and, in this way, maintain health (Loustaunau, 2022). Meditation has popularized mindfulness, tai chi, walking meditation, and other techniques (Loustaunau, 2022). Its application helps lower stress and even prevent some diseases (Loustaunau, 2022). Moreover, such practices are widely used in the contemporary world to maintain mental health and strive for happiness. Modern people appreciate their well-being more and therefore begin meditating more often.
Ayurveda and meditation introduction are closely related to the concept of wellness, as they are among the prerequisites for its development. In particular, since meditation improves physical health, it helps achieve the physical dimension of wellness. Moreover, by reducing stress and maintaining mental health, meditation becomes a tool for emotional well-being. Reflecting on Ayurveda and meditation helps me learn more about the origins of the modern concept of wellness. Studying meditation helps to understand that self-awareness, empathy, and resilience are necessary to achieve wellness, and meditation practices allow the development of these essential qualities.
Conclusion
Considering the application of techniques in the contemporary world, I believe meditation has become more popular due to the need to reduce stress. This assumption reveals the features of current events and their influence on individuals. Thus, Ayurveda and meditation help to understand and achieve wellness by coping with the stress of modernity.
