Introduction
Education is an essential tool in making the society a better place. Technology has impacted the education sector positively by providing various forms in which learning and teaching can be facilitated. Adopting new knowledge has been made easier through the availability of books and computers. Government education ministries have developed curriculums that provide a road map toward attaining schooling goals.
Coursebooks are the materials used to facilitate the implementation of the curriculum. They contain an extensive compilation of content used to teach the intended audience. Access to information has been made fast and learning more effective with computers. Unlike books, the machines can support audio and visual tutoring and studying. Textbooks and computers have contributed positively to the field of education, with the former providing standard materials for learning and the latter providing cheap and easy-access schooling tools.
Impact of Textbooks in Educating
Knowledge-sharing between an educator and a student relies on integrating appropriate learning tools. Teaching and learning are influenced by manual and digital materials that make the process successful. Textbooks are the standard assets used by teachers to help learners acquire new information. They contain specific content based on the subject and questions after every section to test the learners’ understanding.
Using textbooks in schooling has been effective as it helps the students develop their creative and critical thinking (Warsame, 2023). Learners can use books to revise already taught topics and improve their overall grading, hence succeeding in their studies (Warsame, 2023). Learners’ participation in classroom activities is increased highly when course books are used. After reading notes or stories in the texts, students can build their vocabulary and increase their understanding of the topics presented.
Student workbooks are highly advocated for in education as they are structured and simplified befittingly. Course texts are cheap and do not rely on electricity, making them affordable to the population that cannot acquire computers (Utami et al., 2020). The authors present information that matches the student’s needs. Understanding of the texts is guaranteed as short, precise sentences and straightforward, plain language are used. Suitable topical structures are presented with titles, subtitles, and a table of contents to help trace the needed information (Utami et al., 2020). Writers integrate visual diagrams and pictures to entice the students to read more.
Using student workbooks makes it easy to attain the set goals by the Ministry as topics taught are similar across a country or state (Masa’deh et al., 2022). Weak learners can do more practice and read independently without a teacher’s intervention through using books. Educators and learners can also use other resources, such as the computer, to attain knowledge.
Impact of Computers on Schooling
The education field has been transformed since technology was integrated into the tutoring process. Automated learning causes learners to be more engaged, thus increasing their understanding level. Access to information has been made much easier with only a single tap. With this vast amount of information available through computers, learners can explore a wide range of learning materials for free. Through technology, learners can access electronic books by logging in to online libraries or accessing them from websites.
Digital texts are more interactive, cheaper, and can be accessed faster from anywhere (Simões et al., 2022). They are portable, hence the possibility of having more than ten books in their softcopy on their computers, thus saving space. Computers make learning more interactive by integrating multimedia through visuals and audio (Masa’deh et al., 2022). Students can grasp and understand what they see and hear compared to reading alone.
Computers have made learning more attainable for kids and those individuals with visual disability. Through using this device, information has been made accessible to all without any prejudice. While driving, one can listen to a book, thus making acquiring knowledge much more effortless. Electronic books last longer as they are immune to getting worn out, unlike physical books, which can tear or burn (Simões et al., 2022).
Using computers has increased student and tutor collaboration by facilitating online learning. Immediate consultation can be made when machine learning is used, making the schooling process much more manageable (Masa’deh et al., 2022). Digital skills are developed among students who use computers to acquire knowledge (Simões et al., 2022). The contemporary workforce requires the possession of these computerized abilities. When learners interact with computers from a young age, they get advantaged in job selection as they are familiar with the current technology.

The knowledge acquisition process has been simplified with the availability of manual and digital tools such as textbooks and computers. Coursebooks are standard traditional learning tools that have been in use for the longest time in the education sector. They contain topics to be taught as directed by the curriculum being implemented. Textbooks are considered practical tools for learning as they have notes and questions that learners can use to test their understanding. Information presented in course books is easy to read and comprehend since simple vocabulary is used.
The use of computers has highly impacted modern teaching and learning. Using this tool in knowledge provision has been more effective than using textbooks. Electronic books are accessed through computers, which are flexible and cheap to acquire. Machines facilitate teaching through visual and audio, making it a productive educational tool.
