Introduction
Local government is a critical element of any city, considering that it is responsible for managing various duties concerning a municipality. Naturally, the government operates in branches, where each of them is responsible for particular sectors, such as education, public works, animal control, and many others. As a result, effective communication is essential between the agencies to fruitfully govern a city and support its citizens.
Discussion
Local government is usually separated into many departments that operate individually. However, it is critical to establish effective communication between employees not only within the departments themselves but across them as well. For instance, the most populous state in the U.S., California, counts up to 2.5 million employees at different levels of government (Lau para. 4). It becomes evident that the hardware of internal communication is required, especially for such great capacities as California’s. I would advise designing this program’s protocols that also include using straightforward language. Furthermore, the employees should be encouraged to give their feedback and ideas for the brainstorming sessions to solve various issues on the level of the government as a whole (Lau para. 7).
Conclusion
Besides, it is critical not to flood the program with unnecessary information. That is why managers have to filter all the announcements that come from the top and decide whether they should be passed to staff or not.
