The world today has continually been competitive due to the introduction of information that has brought about changes in most organizations in the world. Net neutrality refers to the process that involves the treatment of the contents found within the internet in a fairway. It also allows the users of information technology to access the internet information at any period of time without been discriminated against as it serves all kinds of users equally so long as they have the facilities needed to conduct their operations (Thierer, Adam D. 2006).
Advantages of net neutrality
The advantages of this kind of process are that the users can access information of any type of information without any assistance from the programmers or the professionals on how to carry out the search process. The users access any type of information since they have control over the information that is beneficial to them. The Internet plays an important role in educating the users such as governments, businesses, researchers, artists on the way they should conduct the operations of their organization. Users can have an opportunity of understanding all kinds of information that ranges from health to personal finance issues. It also enables the small entrepreneurs, non-profit and startup companies to access different kinds of information that can lead to their growth into big companies that can generate greater returns for the company (Grant, G., 2006).
The key factors that allow users to appreciate the internet are that its accessibility and speed. These factors are known to affect the efficiency and productivity of how issues within an organization are handled. The disadvantages of net neutrality
It may lead to a user accessing all kinds of information that may be harmful to them. For instance, children may watch pornographic pictures that may change their behaviors; such that they could engage in harmful and dangerous activities that could hinder them from achieving the goals and objectives that they have set for themselves in the future. It may lead to the degrading of new networks as the introduction of other different kinds of a network could be jeopardized by the neutrality of the existing network. It may also limit the usefulness of the internet to the user and developers of the internet (Grant, G., 2006).
Net neutrality is important since the users cannot complain of lacking some information that can bring about development within their organizations. It also facilitates quicker delivery of services to the customers who are connected to the internet therefore can achieve improved progress since all the information that can facilitate quicker service delivery can be derived from the website at a minimal cost (Thierer, Adam D. 2006).
In the case of the researchers, they can obtain relevant information that is in line with the work that can provide opinions and ideas that can provide solutions to a problem that is been tackled. On the other hand, governments may be in a position to compare their performance with other countries so that they can remain competitive in the world market.
It is important for an organization to utilize the internet since they can obtain all kinds of information that they require without been denied access by the owners of the website.Net neutrality is important since it allows the users all kinds of services needed at any given period of time.
