Management and leadership must align with the organization’s purpose and vision in light of the constant changes in the business environment and innovative practices to guarantee collaboration between stakeholders, employees, and goals. The mission and vision statements of a business influence organizational strategy, which specify who the target market is for the company and what they value. Business executives may create a plan that will assist their organization in achieving both its short- and long-term goals by recognizing these components.

In keeping with its objectives, my organization, UnitedHealth Group, prioritizes and supports innovative leadership and management methods. A vision is one of an organization’s intangible assets, along with other variables. In essence, a corporate vision inspires and encourages staff members and offers a framework for establishing goals and a plan of action to reach them (Kremer et al., 2019). Most importantly, it unifies employee efforts and outlines expectations for all parties involved. This shows that the organization’s mission and vision are successfully directing leadership.

An important premise that UnitedHealth Group successfully upholds is that everyone involved in the organization will contribute to a meaningful corporate mission when they can agree that their views are in line with the company. A vision statement runs the danger of each listener defining it differently, buying into their unique ideas, and laying the scene for future disagreements that weaken a focus that is essential to succeed (Kremer et al., 2019). This alters the culture of the company and directs its growth toward cutting-edge procedures.

When a good vision is grounded in reality as well as the expectations, beliefs, goals, and guiding principles of employees, UnitedHealth Group makes sure that it is motivating. To achieve organizational objectives and strengthen organizational culture, this creative method directs management and seeks close collaboration between management and employees (Curry, 2020). The most effective strategy for creating a vision is to work as a team. The management can then establish the vision by facilitating the conversation and summarizing the team’s ideas once the team has contributed to its development.

Innovation leadership is open to further discussion of these notions where workers are attempting to come up with new ideas to determine whether they are realistic and how they can be successfully implemented. UnitedHealth Group is aware that tackling problems and other difficulties that can obstruct corporate innovation requires a readiness to accept criticism. Management must fully grasp the need for innovative strategies to support staff in producing a new wave of knowledge and insight (Kremer et al., 2019). By employing software with built-in gamification elements to exchange ideas anonymously or through innovative ways like online team-building activities with out-of-state offices, the organization has occasionally attempted to introduce fun elements into innovation.

An organization should make an effort to ensure that its vision, purpose, and strategy are in line with and influenced by innovation leadership factors when it is in a management or leadership position. This establishes the bar for the staff at UnitedHealth Group and has an impact on important choices. Meeting employee needs and considering the COVID-19 epidemic while setting goals are two instances of this strategy in action. From my perspective, management always tries to find a method to make decisions that bring them back to the goal. This aids in the essential statements’ re-evaluation and directs the organization’s growth.
