The focus on interdisciplinary collaboration is an indispensable necessity for any nursing organization. Due to the connection between the processes of managing patients’ needs and those of allocating resources, it is crucial to increase the involvement of physicians in financial improvement efforts (McLaughlin & Olson, 2017). Specifically, physicians will shed light on the expenses that financial experts may not be privy to due to the lack of knowledge of the functions of physicians and the tasks that they face.
In addition, the opinions of physicians in managing the budget of a healthcare organization are crucial since the multitude of perspectives contributes to an adequate assessment of risks and an increase in the economic security of a company. Thus, by discussing the key expenses and risks associated with the management of patients’ needs with physicians, a manager will be able to find the solution that will eventually lead to the best outcome possible (McLaughlin & Olson, 2017). The perspective provided by physicians will show the risk management aspects that are associated with communicating with patients and addressing their immediate needs.
To engage physicians in collaboration with other experts, one will have to test several strategies. First, the styles of teamwork used for promoting collaboration have to meet the needs, requirements, and expectations of physicians; thus, they will have a comfortable environment where they will be willing to cooperate. In addition, a strategy based on the increase in the levels of administrative support and provision of consultations can be advised (McLaughlin & Olson, 2017). Once physicians are given an opportunity to manage their environment and communication styles effectively, the efficacy of their participation in improving the financial strategy of an organization will rise.
