Kumar’s Participation of women in politics” is published in the International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (IOSR). The journal is a prestigious international journal focusing on social issues and humanity. Their approach to tackling humanity’s problems is an exemplary manifestation of the implications of research on human development and social history. Kumar is an assistant professor in the department of management studies in the Greater Noida, within the HIMT Group of Institutions. He has had tremendous contributions to gender- related studies. One of the key features which made me choose this article is the title chosen by the author. The issue of a gender-based approach to politics is a global concern that draws attention from all researchers worldwide. Historically, patriarchy has been a significant practice in several societies around the universe; hence Kumar’s decision to explore the role and position of women in politics and society is a bit interesting. Ideally, this article manifests his scientific skills and roles in practical issues affecting communities worldwide. This article is one of the many volumes he has written about social concerns and gender values in societies, which are of great importance to the social science field.

Kumar postulates that women’s participation worldwide is a matter of concern because many countries showcase male dominance in both houses of government. However, he also establishes that some nations have achieved gender-balanced representations in the parliaments. As Kumar states, “We have found in this paper that in some countries of the world, women’s representation in politics is perfect, like Rwanda of Africa achieved first place in world ranking” (87). In my view, such conclusive findings may help us to understand the footprints of gender inclusivity and the implications of the feminist movement endured over the years. Moreover, I believe this article is critical because it provides a comprehensive qualitative analogy of the political landscape around the world with factual figures as at the time of the study. Concurrently, it weighs on the factors contributing to such findings by providing succinct comparisons of gender variables. This global comparative study offers critical information on the gender-related inequalities which also exist in different fragments.

Kumar’s style includes using the scholarly research approach with a clear focus on women’s engagement and representation worldwide. Although I may disagree with some of the assertions on female representation, I find this article compelling and self-explanatory, indicating how important it is to tackle gender inequalities in different spheres of life. I believe this article will contribute to the general knowledge of the issues affecting gender and social disparities during my project development. Furthermore, the study will help understand how human societies have changed over time because of the various feminism movements witnessed over the years. At the same time, it will help to examine the implications of stereotypes and social arrangements in different settings, including workplaces and communities. Moreover, there are myriad challenges faced by women in different environments which require substantial understanding. Some of these problems may involve gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and patriarchy (Sanín 302). In several communities worldwide, men assume the dominating figure and objectify women to suit their desires. Likewise, the political arena also showcases disparities both in representation and the procedure to acquire power. Such challenges are universal and may require the input of any social scientist alongside other researchers.
