Introduction
While Labour Contract can be very unusual for students and the shift to focus on process rather than outcome takes some time, this approach provides significant benefits, especially for students’ flexibility and reflection skills development.
Main Body
As students progress on the course, a new approach to learning – Labor-Based Contract Grading becomes more understandable and reveals its benefits. I find it interesting that the grading approach shifts students’ focus from the result of work to the way they pass to this outcome. Such a transition is unusual in use, and therefore, it was initially problematic to focus on the writing process since it was more customary to think about the final paper. However, the approach allows deeper involvement in the work and thinking about it by finding suitable solutions for the problems that arise in the process. The Labor Contract’s advantages are in reflection, flexibility, analysis, and the manifestation of creativity.
One of the key reasons the approach has such benefits is that focusing on the result, in some cases, devalues the efforts invested in the process leading to demotivation. Moreover, focus on processes promotes freedom of reflection, helping to develop new ideas and admitting the effort invested, which was inspiring. Labor Contract allows students to understand what results they want to achieve and what efforts they are ready to invest in their goals to balance the course with other aspects of their education.
Conclusion
Focusing on the work process makes it more mindful and helps overcome problems or obstacles during task completion.
