The changing work environment in business organization requires proper adjustment in the aspect of leadership within the corporations. Currently, enterprises rely on the quality and effectiveness of the managers to earn them competitive advantage in their respective sectors. Therefore, it is necessary for companies to consider having ethical leaders that have the potential to influence productivity. In the modern time, principles such as honesty, just, and integrity are common play significant role in business organization thus forms the basic requirements for good leaders. Managers having the mentioned qualities are essential resources to their organizations.

In the emerging work environment, the performance of the business organization is significantly influenced by the nature of leadership being practiced in the entity. Therefore, it is important to consider various moral perspectives in the development of leaders. To become a good manager, an individual should have different attributes such as relationship-building, self-awareness, humility, empowering followers, communication skills and consistency. When people acquire and practice the mentioned values and morals, they are more likely to be competent leaders and thus capable of managing the welfare of followers to meet the objectives of a business organization. Therefore, it is vital to consider ethical requirements such as justice, integrity, and respect as key necessities for the development of effective managers.

Generally, leaders are tasked with a number of responsibilities making them associate with various stakeholders. In order to ensure the followers effectively understand the orders, they should be able to communicate properly and in a clear manner (Ter Hoeven & Van Zoonen, 2020). Therefore, it is necessary for managers to learn and develop strong communication skills that can enable them to present and interact with people within the workplace accordingly. Moreover, proper communication will allow managers to relate effectively with virtual workers (Child, 2015). In addition, being able to address and clarify issues is important for proper organizational management thus managers must have such attributes to influence the outcome of a business organization.

In the modern time, leaders are expected to be respectful and treat their followers with dignity. Generally, people expect to be handled accordingly and accorded the necessary respect. In order for the managers to be respected by the juniors, it is important for them to value them. Whenever employees feel appreciated by their leader, they will as well reciprocate and treat the respective manager with formality. For instance, irrespective of the managers’ position, they should show respect to the people around them, listen to various stakeholders’ concerns, and encourage the facet of diversity and inclusion in the work environment. Therefore, the aspect of respect is fundamental and leaders must ensure they practice it.

In the workplace, to increase the productivity and commitment of workers, managers must earn their trust. Employees usually gain confidence based on how honesty of their leader, especially when addressing critical issues affecting workers’ welfare. Effective managers do not hide significant information from followers; however, they present the facts to enable the affected people to comprehend the situation (Sharma et al., 2019). This ethical aspect is essential and whoever is aspiring to become a good leader should ensure they embrace the culture of honesty.

Similarly, most business organizations are suffering from the issue of discrimination and favoritism. Most employees in such enterprises feel they are not being treated equally and view the system as being against them. In such cases, managers should value the aspect of justice and promote equality among the teams (Akparobore & Omosekejimi, 2020). For instance, when offering promotion programs, an ethical leader should have a predetermined scale that whoever reaches the minimum requirement qualifies for advancement. Furthermore, the leaders should be able to condemn and discourage immoral conducts that are likely to affect the business or other staff members. Therefore, it is essential for managers to be just in their practices.

The performance of a business organization is influenced by the organization’s culture such as teamwork. To facilitate effective collaboration in the workplace, leaders should be able to create a favorable work environment that enhances relationship-building. In other words, managers should have the ability to bring employees together and develop a special bond with them. The aspect has the potential of making the staff members feel the essence of belonging which is essential for their productivity (McDonald, 2014). As a result, organizational leaders should value relationships and engage in practices that foster and retain such togetherness in the workplace.

In addition, good leaders should portray the aspect of integrity in their actions. Generally, working with different people might be challenging and the managers have to be ready to tackle any issue they might face (Shakeel et al., 2019). In other words, whatever the leaders propose to be done should be completed as per the agreement. There should be no element of compromise as such behaviors have the potential of harming the progress of an entity. In other words, the values and doings of the individual must be corresponding and conspicuous.

In the modern world, ethical leadership is an essential aspect that impacts the performance of business organizations. It is important to develop leaders that have the required headship values to facilitate the productivity of the entity as well as the well-being of the followers. Some of the expected ethical requirement for a leader includes justice, respect, and integrity. When an individual exhibits these principles, they are more likely to become successful managers.
