Leadership can be described as the process of communal authority which one has acquired with the help of others to achieve certain goals. Leadership is a very fundamental feature in an organizational framework. It is the ability of leaders to pay attention and examine and employ their skills to establish communication in all stages of decision making. Leaders should be able to create an environment of transparency as well as to express their personal ideals and ideas well without having to impose them on people. Leadership involves locating issues not only responding to a set program. The leader should be able to recognize a problem and act on it by begging reforms that brings considerable improvements.

A leader must also possess a very commendable character. In this way, one has to be trustworthy in all matters in order to lead people well. It is important for the leader to be someone who can be trusted so that people can look up to him. The leader should be able to lead by example in order to get the right to be liable to people. For one to have real influence, one has to have respect for all the people he is leading. For instance in a company, leaders should be able to have respect for the people under them in order to have smooth communication and understanding among each other. Leaders should also be passionate for the work they have been assigned as well as about their position as the leader. This is because many people are able to react candidly to someone who is enthusiastic and dedicated to their work.

Leaders are supposed to be a source of encouragement as well as being able to inspire people to achieve their required goals. In companies, leaders have to be able to motivate the team to be able to achieve the objectives of the project at hand. It is important to note that, despite the fact that duties and functions of a leader are singular; the leader is required to be a component of the team striving for the objectives of the project. In this way, the leader will be prepared to work hard without waiting for the results to happen. Leaders are also supposed to have confidence. This is because without confidence the leader will not be able to direct the team in the direction that will bear fruits. The leader will thus instill confidence in his team and put handwork to the project to end in time. The team will look up to the leader as their inspiration and confidence to complete the designated task. (Blake, Mouton)

Leaders should also work in a systematic and focused way even in times of uncertainty. In this way, people will be able to get encouragement and refuge when the leader shows assertion and a positive character. Leaders are open-minded even in uncertain circumstances and stay composed while being persistent to achieve the goals. The leader will face many trials but will be able to understand that it is part of the process. The leader is able to think rationally and has the potential to break the problem into parts that are easy to solve. A leader is also devoted to achieve excellence and quality. In this way, the leader sets high standards in order to be able to produce the best results. The leader is always positive and optimistic about his responsibilities and always puts on a strong case. The leader is also very hardworking and consistence to maintain their leadership role without being biased.
