Aims and Objectives
Promoting active knowledge acquisition with the help of interdisciplinary collaboration as the basis for student education must be viewed as a necessity because of numerous aspects that need to be taken into account when diagnosing and managing a nursing issue. Therefore, the following objectives must be attained:
- Promoting active and efficient communication supported by the use of IT innovations and social networks as the means of disseminating data fast and efficiently;
- Encouraging the target population to engage in active communication with the nurse educators so that the relevant behaviors and skills could be learned;
- Focusing on the use of conflict management techniques based on compromise and cooperation when addressing confrontations among nurses;
- Enhancing the importance of using the principles of transformational leadership as the means of encouraging the target population to develop the required behaviors and habits.
Critique
The goals mentioned above serve as markers for the assessment of the nursing service quality. The focus on both the management of processes and the provision of guidance to nurses and patients (i.e., leadership) helps promote steep progress.
Outcomes
It is expected that the focus on patient and nurse education, as well as the transformation of the current behaviors in communities and the use of compromise and cooperation as the crucial tools for managing conflicts, will help improve patient outcomes to a considerable extent. Specifically, the following goals will supposedly be achieved:
- Increasing the number of positive patient outcomes;
- Raising awareness levels among the target community members;
- Improving the communication process in the nursing environment (including the nurse-patient dialogue and the communication among nurses);
- Providing both nurses and patients with role models that they can follow;
- Spurring the development of patient independence among the community members.
The outcomes listed above are achievable and implying improvements in the quality of care. Thus, they should be viewed as the criteria for the success of the change management process.
