Divorce rate and transmission of sexually transmitted diseases has become a problem in the whole world. The world has registered a good number of people who have lost their lives through sexually transmitted infections. There is high rate of family break up as a result of divorce leaving the children to suffer. Therefore, legalization of the same sex marriage can minimize the divorce rate, reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, and at the same time allow individuals equal rights to express themselves through life long relationships.
3 Specific Claims or Main Points
In my first claim that am planning to pursue, it will show how same sex marriage is widely practiced in several countries.I will reflect on this idea by showing how divorce rate and spread of sexually transmitted diseases has declined by using secondary data or research that has been done by different individuals and organizations.
The second claim will focus on how same sex marriage can be legalized by the government and the steps it can take to fight stigma to people who are in this relationships. I will show how the government can come up with a new law that allows homosexual marriage. I will also show how the government can fund different organizations, which will educate the public about homosexual marriage and make the public understand that these people have a normal life and at the same time, they have equal rights. In this particular section, I would like to find out by which percent the economy of different countries will grow when the government legalizes homosexuality due to the excess expenses that it uses in buying medications for patients with sexually transmitted diseases and in funding children’s home.
Lastly, I will intend to find out the effects of this marriage to children. Since homosexual partners do not get children, I would like to know where they get their children. In this part, I will do random sampling where I will interview some individuals on whether children in this marriage live a normal life.
Challenges
One of the challenges that I might face is that many people who are my target population are Christians. It is clear that Christians are always against homosexuality. When I present my argument to them, they will not see any sense in it unless I lay my focus on a continent that has already legalized it for example Europe.

This source will be very helpful in my project because it has highlighted the nature of homosexuality. At the same time, the book explains that some childhood experiences and family environment can make one become a homosexual. It has also some information regarding homosexual activists who learn that homosexuals are naturally born; the church is not left behind because it made to understand that homosexuality is not part of human design.

Welch, S. Gruhl, J. & Rigdon, S. (2009).Understanding American Government. New York, Cengage Learning.
This book is very important source because I will be able to know how Americans have been at the forefront in support of homosexuality and the way they have extended their rights. Therefore, majority of the public will endorse the new law of legalizing homosexuality and at the same time accept equal rights in workplace without stigmatization.
