Monica Taylor, can you please tell me more about the organization and what you do for the organization?
I am the Director of Public Relations at Love the children in the USA. And I have worked with the organization for the past 8 years.
Who or what is Love the Children USA are?
Love the Children is a social movement. When I talk of a social movement, I mean that it’s an organization in which people come together to air their views and complaints, and apprehensions about their rights, welfare, aspirations as they take part in other forms of actions as they command for provision of and or action to be taken by relevant bodies or the government. This definition is also illustrated in Kriesi, Soule, and Snow, 2004. p.3.
The peace movement is composed of many segments of the population that want, work for, and promote peace. Nonetheless, numerous organizations aimed at promoting peace and unity, and the development of nations of which Love Our Children USA is one of them.
Before we could continue with the interview, she asked us why I chose their organization.
I told her that I chose their organization because it gives the public qualitative knowledge about the issue of child protection, speaking out for the kids and adolescences, pleading, or arguing in favor of their well-being, and also passing the children messages to various communities through media enlightenment and also practicing secured and optimistic parenting in every house, educational institution, and within-group of people living in a particular local area across America. It also gets to the origin of the foundation of child violence, thereby terminating the interval during which the recurring sequence of child violence occurs before its commencement (loveourchildrenusa).

That in contrast to civil society/ social capital models, social movement perspectives attributes a central role to political activity and political associations. Tarrow (1998) defined these organizations as communal challenges by people with familiar reasons and commonality in upholding dealings with leaders, challengers, and power. Many social organizations, such as Love Our Children USA, begin as loosely structured, informal groups without any formal legal status. Eventually, many of these formally incorporate as legal entities to raise money and enhance their effectiveness, legitimacy, and sustainability.
Implicit in this broad conceptual perspective (with many Variants) are three themes with direct relevance to the government-non-profit relationship. First, non-profit social movements have a deliberately conflictual relationship with the government; indeed, the entire purpose of many social movements is to change government policy. Second, the successful transformation of government policy by social movements has contributed significantly to the growth in the non-profit sector over the past thirty years. For instance, Love the children the USA has successfully pressed the establishment of children’s domestic violence shelter, rape crisis centres and Enhancing kids and teen’s safety and online technology. Many political advocacy groups have emerged to call for action by government on children issues.
However, the civil rights movements worked in part through non-profit advocacy organizations and locally based non-profit community action agencies

“Love Our Children USA is the non-profit organization that is concerned with or applicable to or belonging to an entire nation or country. Love Our Children USA was founded on grounds for feeling hopeful about the future of America’s children and to maintain their safe and sound involvement in the society. The organisation’s goal is caring about the safety of children and the reinforcement of families”
What are the other goals or mission of this organization?
“The organization rules, guides or inspires others and it also an attending avoidance organization. Love Our Children USA exert itself continuously, vigorously, or obtrusively to gain an end or engage in a crusade for a certain cause or for all category of things distinguished by some common characteristic or quality in relation to act of aggression and neglect against children. Consequently, the organization can be said to be an advocate of children and families”.
How long has your organization been in existence?
“The organization has been in existence for the past eleven years” it was founded in the year 1999 with a strong team that was determined to fulfil their dreams.
How successful has your organization been in fulfilling its goals since inception in 1999?
“Since the organizations inception in 1999, Love Our Children USA has Subdued or brought low in condition or status the issue of child violence prevention by eradicating the activities that keep children from attaining their complete inherent capacity for coming into being. Also, the organization Impart skills or knowledge on producing or capable of producing an intended result or having a striking effect on parenting successful action of solving kids problems and promotes children achievement by producing series of steps to be carried out or goals to be accomplished that will give qualities or abilities to positive transformation in parenting and family approaches, maltreatment and cyber bullying avoidance, school violence and internet security avoidance”.
Madam Taylor, What types of activities do you have to promote your cause?
“We elaborate on parenting and builds children’s accomplishment by encouraging deterrence approaches and constructive changes in parenting and family approaches and activities throughout unrestricted education. Nonetheless the organization has great tribute and reverence for the children’s future hence works to give them power to and support them through giving them information, encouragements, advocacy and other forms of mentoring to enable them carry out their day to day activities freely and comfortably”.
Have any major social changes occurred as a result of your organization’s activities?
“Of course there has been many social changes occurrence putting into consideration the number of violence occasioned to children annually, like rape, violence, neglect and abandonment, the organization has done a lot in as much as rescuing these children, creating the left gaps, protecting and also offering them with information both on the legal matters but also enlightening them on how to evade and curb such occurrences”
As the Director of Public relations, how do you implement or go about such changes?
“Psychological counselling is offered to such victims. With all these, the organization believes that violence can be stopped before it starts and it can also be prevented completely”.
What are the future plans for your organization?
“Love our Children USA’s future plans are to help children in attaining their potential in life. However, since one of the organization’s goals is to strengthen families and keep children safe, empowerment, hope and strengthening of children are always considered and are majorly looked at”.

With all these, the organization believes that violence can be stopped before it starts and it can also be prevented completely.
Lessons from the project
This project has given me a “fresh” new outlook on children’s issues, it also taught me to be watchful of children’s rights, welfare and security and also to respect their rights. I will seriously advocate for such organizations to be given an earring both at local and international levels. I am anticipating being an active member of Love the Children USA, for I have learnt more about them and felt the urge to be part of the team.
