Revisiting Values, Vision, and Mission
Accentuating such values as Safety, Integrity, Dynamism, Quality, and Sustainable Development, Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) will concentrate on its vision and aims to become the first choice provider of world-class commercial ports and revisit the mission regarding achieving sustainable development and increasing the shareholders’ value with focusing on proactiveness and innovativeness.
Project Activities
Implementing OBIEE in ADPC, leaders will focus on applying the tool in the sphere of financial planning to achieve decreases in reporting time and increase flexibility, accuracy, and speed of reporting with the access to updated information.
The users of the OBIEE are expected to receive the live training regarding the effective use of the tool’s functions.
Priorities
The main priority is to provide executive managers with timely, efficient, and accurate financial reports to guarantee the effective decision-making. The other priorities are provision of possibilities to monitor the business, to control performance, and to adopt corrective actions in a timely manner.
Forming a Team
The members of working teams will be involved depending on their experience in the monthly reporting process and working with ERP and Hyperion.
To develop key performance indicators (KPIs), members of the leadership and IT teams will conduct meetings to discuss the reporting requirements in ADPC and set objectives of implementing OBIEE and determining appropriate KPIs.
The discussions will focus on the project’s feasibility and potential benefits of implementing low-cost OBIEE tools for the informed decision-making in ADPC. Much attention will be paid to determining limitations and risks of the OBIEE’s implementation.
Linking KPIs
The developed KPIs are linked to previously determined goals and priorities and associated with the necessity to guarantee efficient and timely decision-making. The formulated KPIs are the following:
- Decrease the reporting time to 1 day;
- Improve efficiency with the focus on placing reports online during 1 day;
- Increase accuracy while decreasing the number of errors in more than 50%;
- Improve the speed in providing real-time information;
- Eliminate the use of reports on paper while using electronic formats.
Solution and Implementation
Analysing Results of Survey
The work team should analyse the effectiveness of OBIEE to review reports to decrease number of errors, to analyse the reporting time, and to focus on strategies to improve observed results. The main focus is on improvement of the following processes:
Examining Causes and Solutions
Expected causes of problems are challenges associated with the organisational structure of ADPC. The leadership team should coordinate efforts to overcome barriers.
Defining New Vision
Implementation of OBIEE provides more opportunities to develop flexibility, preventive systems, and corrective actions in the reporting process.
Measuring KPIs
KPIs will be measured with the focus on metrics and targets determined by the team.
Data Collection and Evaluation
Analysing Performance Gaps
The team will collect the data and prioritise performance gaps focusing on successes in completing targeted KPIs.
Continue Measuring KPIs
The team continues measuring KPIs and their compliance with goals.
Reassessing KPIs
The team will reassess the data to summarise achievements for managers and employees.
