Recycling is essential in today’s world if we want to protect the environment for future generations. Recycling is crucial for the environment because it allows us to create new materials from old ones. As long as the planet exists, trash will continue to grow. Easy-to-dispose-of items like soda cans and water bottles have contributed to an increase in global pollution (Faulkner and Stephanise 89). Recycling involves using waste to create new goods and as a result, it benefits the world. As a result, less waste is in landfills, which helps minimize pollution. This speech will focus on discussing the introduction of a recycle program as a mandatory practice in Murray, KY.
I will use the problem-solving pattern organization and start by outlining the issue of not recycling, then discuss causes of not recycling and finally, the solution and possible actions. The amount of waste created as a result is growing exponentially. The quantity of space needed to dispose of garbage increases with waste generation (Faulkner and Stephanise 89). It is essential to keep in mind that the area is restricted; thus, it is up to us to use it wisely. The constantly expanding population requires room for housing as well as agricultural production of food. It would be impossible for people to survive in Murray if dumpsters and landfills took up all of this space. Recycling solves this problem because it lessens the quantity of waste released into the environment, conserves valuable space, and minimizes the likelihood of health issues spreading in the city. The amount of rubbish dumped in landfills has decreased where recycling is practiced.
In conclusion, mandatory recycling will aid in reducing the quantity of pollution that enters the ecosystem. Door-to-door collection, which aims for high recovery rates and a decrease in contamination, is the focus of my program. I now extend an invitation to everyone to attend our upcoming town hall meeting to support the recycling initiative. Let join efforts together to make our city clean through this program.
