The medical assistant is a profession that requires years of healthcare education, hard work, and stress-resistance. People who choose it as their major have to realize that they will see human suffering often. At the same time, the job of a medical assistant is rewarding because in it one contributes to the well-being of other people.
Medical assistants are trained professionals who help doctors and nurses to care for patients. This career choice may be a stage before continuing education in the health sphere. Assistants are responsible for making the doctor’s challenging job as comfortable as possible, especially under stressful circumstances. Students who cannot be attentive under pressure should not consider receiving a degree in medical field since not noticing the inconspicuous details could lead to a patient’s death in a critical situation.
I personally do not foresee myself being a medical assistant because of the responsibility this career puts on a person. Successfully passing the challenging tests does not guarantee that one will be ready for the medical sphere. Healthcare assistance is not a career choice for everybody due to its technical and psychological difficulties.
Paralegal Specialist as a Choice of Major
Paralegal specialists usually work under the guidance of a lawyer or a legal office manager. They are familiar with the regulations and court practices but do not offer their services as independent businesspeople. A paralegal position may be obtained as a step toward a lawyer’s career in the jurisdiction sphere.
Being attentive to details, professional, and having a good memory are essential qualities for work in the attorney’s office. Since paralegal specialists typically perform delegated tasks, their responsibility regarding clients is somewhat lower than that of certified law specialists. However, failing to fulfill the duties within acceptable standard may lead to decrease of trust from the top management and, eventually, fewer career opportunities.
In my case, a job as a paralegal specialist is not the preferred choice, as the paperwork side of the crimes has always been less interesting for me than the practical one. Despite that, consulting with paralegal specialists on the subjects of personal or professional matters could be a beneficial experience for anyone. People who know the law well have an advantage in any situation regarding regulations and guidelines.
