It has been noted that being skilled and knowledgeable is not the ultimate recipe for employees to be able to attain the shared goals and objectives. Motivation as a tool raises morale of workers and plays a bigger role in helping organization achieve the predetermined goals and objective effectively.

Ideally, it improves the morale of a struggling team as well as coaxes a team that is good to perfume better (Ephross & Vassil, 2005). To describe five way or actions that will help motivate employees which are the aim of the essay, a scenario is brought into focus.

The scenario is that of a team which is in a final stage of a project deemed difficult that involved working on weekends. Although the end of the project is close, team members are burnt out both physically and emotionally.

By setting an example to them in a manner that shows dedication to completion of the project will help in motivating the team. It has been shown that when a project leader shows fatigue and unwillingness to continue with a given project, the same will be transferred to the team members.

Despite the fact that every one is burnt out, when a leader shows strength and shares the same with the team members, there are higher chances of the team gaining momentum and successfully complete the project (Leigh, 2007).

Additionally, crafting some exiting activities either with the project or at the end will also help to reinforce the morale of the team members. Activities that will bring the team together to have fun for instance dinner, going out in a serene environment as well as sports activities may play a major role in helping the team remain focus.

It is worth noting that with such set of activities, workers will be anxious to finish the work at hand as soon as possible so that they can engage in activities that bring happiness to them. This goes an extra mile in rejuvenating their energy for the next task.

Similarly, having in mind that information sharing help project leaders be in a better position to chose the best alternative; it will be rational if an environment in which the team members are free to express their complains, opinions as ell as views on how best to tackle the problem at hand.

It goes without saying that in such a scenario where issues are brought on the table and adequately discussed, the consensus arrived at will help in guiding the project leader on choosing the best alternative (Forsyth, 2006).

With this in mind, it is evident that if the alternative chosen was what was agreed upon by the majority, the team will eventually feel they were part of the decision making and will strive in completing the project with high morale since they are the owners of the decisions arrived at.

According to Ephross & Vassil, 2005 another action that will help motivate the project team is by making them understand that their efforts are in line with the organization goals and objectives.

For that matter, a success of the project will not only mean a success of the organization but more so their own success. When such an attachment is created in the team, everyone will strive to ensure that they do not fail since a fail will mean that they whole team as well as individual members is a failure.

As a project leader, there is an option of talking to the management to have in place a strategy or plan on how the team can be given some few days off the work.

This can be accompanied with a full paid trip to a given location where the team members can go together with two or three of their family members. When such an issue will be made known to the project team, they will definitely feel the urge of successfully completing the project as they yearn for the ‘holiday’ (Leigh, 2007).
