Myocardial Infarction, commonly known as heart attack, results from decreased and sometimes complete cessation of blood flow to the myocardium portion. Coronary artery occlusion causes a deprivation of oxygen in the myocardium (Mayo Clinic). The prolonged oxygen deprivation to the myocardium can lead to necrosis and death of the myocardial cell. The condition has several symptoms that can be used during diagnosis. However, the problem can be treated by using medications that can enhance the flow of blood. Therefore, myocardial infarction is a dangerous condition caused by the lack of blood flow to the heart.
Myocardial Infarction is among the main causes of death in the world. This kind of heart attack can occur due to trauma that ruptures the coronary arteries, a blood clot causing obstruction, and electrolyte imbalances (Mayo Clinic). The main symptoms of myocardial Infarction are trouble breathing, fatigue, chest pain, feeling lightheaded, sweating, and heart palpitation. Some of the risk factors are age, lifestyle, and family history of the condition. The condition can be treated medically using anti-clotting medications, nitroglycerine and other medications (Mayo Clinic). As a result, myocardial is a serious condition affecting the normal blood flow to the heart.
A heart attack is a life-threatening condition because it disrupts blood flow to the heart. When the heart cannot get adequate blood, it can lead to shortness of breath. The main trigger of a heart problem can be an individual’s lifestyle, such as eating food containing many fats. However, the condition can be treated if an individual receives immediate medical attention. Some of the treatment mechanisms are taking medications to solve the issue of blood clots, reduce pain, or slow down the heart rate.
