Business Scenario
Over the past few years, Netput, a food manufacturing company, has experienced reduced performance in terms of financials and a decline in the number of customers. Employees complain that machines used to take long to get the work done due to numerous mechanical breakdowns, which has affected the quality of final products. Over the last 2 years, there have been interruptions of activities due to breakdowns, and the problem seems to be repeating itself frequently. The company is experiencing high maintenance costs, and it seems that this has influenced the profit margins over time.
During an analysis of the business processes’ efficiency, it was revealed that the machines are old and outdated according to the current technology. The inefficiency of business operations can affect employee morale and increase business costs due to the need to repair and maintain company equipment. An evaluation of business processes indicated that several steps were replicated, and workers were paid for repeated and unnecessary processes that translated to wastage of time, energy, and financial resources. The management is not working appropriately to find alternative methods of motivating employees and solving the business’s challenges. The weakness of the management has caused the failure leading to the issues that the company is experiencing.
