The process of nurse education has to incorporate teaching interdisciplinary cooperation (IC) since the specified skill will allow improving care quality significantly. Therefore, learning about the methods of promoting IC in the target environment was essential for me as a nurse. The project has taught me that IC should not be underrated as an integral part of the nursing process.
Instructional Design Skills: Three Strengths and Two Areas of Instructional Design
My strengths include the ability to plan activities efficiently, approaching tasks creatively, and arranging the available data properly. The described abilities have helped me to build a coherent project for improving IC in nursing. In addition, in the process of project design, I discovered two areas that I would like to focus on in the future, namely, flexibility and the ability to deploy innovative technology in addressing complex issues.
Professional Organizations: Review
In the course of the project, three professional organizations were taken as the example of proper management of instructions and the promotion of IC. These include the American Assisted Living Nursing Association (2018), the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (2018), and the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Workforce Studies (n.d.). CIHWS is particularly important since it provides very helpful information about IC and the related issues that a nurse may encounter in the process.
Three Recommended Changes and Strategies: Description and Rationale
The process of delivering instructions may utilize only electronic sources, with digital tools substituting the recommended traditional ones. Moreover, the leadership approach deployed in the program can be substituted with the laissez-faire framework in case all participants demonstrate responsibility. Finally, one may reconsider the negotiation strategies that will be explored and shift from collaboration-based ones to the ones that pursue compromise as the ultimate goal. The reasons for the identified changes include the necessity to focus on patients’ needs.
Conclusion
The project has provided a range of important insights, helping to recognize the necessity of IC and explore ways of improving nursing care. Although one may need to introduce minor modifications to the project prior to its implementation, it still represents the bulk of a significant and powerful change in the nursing setting. By using IC in the nursing environment, one will be able to achieve the goals of patient recovery, management of errors in the workplace, and the integration of innovative approaches toward meeting patients’ needs.
