The preceding is an annotated bibliography of six articles outlining nursing job satisfaction. The first article is a situational analysis among Turkey nurses using Hackman and Oldman’s theory of job satisfaction and enrichment. Lim et al elaborate on how stresses affect job delivery and how the solution to such stresses turns to be avenues for job satisfaction among nurses. Also, entailed is how various interventions in the nursing profession like induction training may improve job satisfaction.
The fourth article elaborates how skill exploration, peer relations and working conditions are substantial contributors to nursing job satisfaction. Improving training among nursing is contained in the fifth particle/source. This is because the nursing profession is seen as a minor career in some societies so, improving the training will earn respect for the nurses, hence job satisfaction. Nurses believe that overcoming difficult challenges in the course of their work ensures maximum exploitation of skills and abilities, hence ensuring job satisfaction and passion.

The article elaborates job enrichment and satisfaction among nurses in Turkey, but the findings also concern nurses in other countries. Feedback, task significance, autonomy, skill variety and skill identity are the principal factors nurses consider being improving their job satisfaction and passion. A nursing job is challenging and involves a lot of risks, but this is attributed to an opportunity to exploit abilities and skills. It is exceedingly rare to find all job satisfying factors as stipulated in Hackman and Oldman’s theory of job satisfaction and enrichment.

Stress is attributed to several factors, and various coping strategies are some of the satisfactory factors for job passion. Self-support and appropriate problem solving are the motivational factors for nurses in stressful situations, hence are able to continue with their careers. Problem-solving and support within an organization or health facility are, therefore, viewed as the cornerstone for job satisfaction among nurses due to the peace and freedom that prevails. Problem-solving skills may be lacking in an organization which may worsen the situation thus forcing some nurses to quit their profession.

Reviews aimed at improving communication skills and occasional training on selected topics improve the passion of nurses towards their jobs. The approach is one of the methods of improving the self-esteem of the nurses because of the acquirement of new knowledge and skills in the healthcare ambience. Nurses who acquire new skills are able to improve their services to their clients thus improving the confidence people have in them. It is true that self-esteem is not equal to all people, but it varies from individual to individual, and the time frame of its achievement is not the same to all people.

Several sources of job satisfaction are outlined in this article, and they include skill exploration, peer relationships, working conditions and patient contact. It recommends for policymakers to recruit specialized nurses for them to ensure maximum use of their potentials. Nurses usually express their job passion when the conditions of work are friendly because they feel privileged in the society. Virtually a person may not relate with all the peers and stress is always part of life.

It is indispensable to enhance and improve the learning accomplishment of proficient nurses so that they can compete effectively with other related professionals in the healthcare system like the physicians. Several nurses are diploma or associate degree holders, and this makes them feel inferior among the healthcare workers thus are unable to achieve job satisfaction. Highly educated nurses are able to use current technology for healthcare delivery, which reduces cost; likewise, well educated nurses usually earn respect from the society making them attain career passion.

A plethora of challenges affects the Iran’s health that offends nurses despite the improving system in the recent past. Distinct drawbacks include personnel shortage, shortages in the nursing curriculum, job dissatisfaction, discrepancy amid theory and application, underprivileged societal situation of nurses among other challenges. The article recommends that the private, public sectors and the political wing to get reflection of nursing in the country, escalating inspiration and promoting sociocultural atmosphere of nurses, so that they can attain job satisfaction. However, much is needed for the solution of the challenges which may not be a reality meaning that nurses may not attain the passion in their career any soon.
