Proposal of the Study Obesity Cure in Children
Currently, obesity has been on the rise in the United States. This has lead to various problems for children. The children’s physical and social activities have been seriously affected. Health experts have focused their concerns on the matter and are working hard to come up with a possible cure. Several medications such as Food and Drug Administration (FDA), sibutramine, and orlistat, have been introduced to help in treating obesity.
Thesis Statement
The purpose of the research will focus on examining the effectiveness of the medicines introduced, usage, and any associated side effect.
Study Variable
Various factors will be considered while carrying out the study. The children to be examined should come from diverse social and economic backgrounds. This will comprise of children from rich, middle, and poor families. The experiment will focus on kids of the age between 5-12 years. Their daily physical activities will also be monitored to help in the study. The gender composition of the kids will also be a significant consideration.
Population of Study
The population of the study will compose children between the ages of 5-12 years. A population of 200 boys and 200 girls will be selected from different social and economic backgrounds. All the population selected will be expected to compose of kids who are using a medication, or have previously used any of the three medicine listed to cure obesity.
The Expected Direction of Effect
The children will be expected to portray different responses to the medication. Some of the children will be expected to show some sign of healing while others will show no positive gain in terms of healing. Other kids will show a negative effect as a result of the medication.
