Introduction

The informal system in a school has a strong influence on student achievement or satisfaction. A variety of extracurricular factors and approaches can help students take their minds off a busy school curriculum and devote their time to creative pursuits. At the same time, such a division, in some cases, contributes to academic performance since students return to learning with great pleasure after a slight distraction from classes. The concept of an informal system may include the educational climate, the hidden curriculum, and the culture at the school.

Discussion

School climate can mean a combination of different factors that create an atmosphere special for a particular school. For example, this may be the equipment of the class, attitude in the team, age group, and academic performance (Ballantine et al., 2021). These parameters affect how students feel at school because they regularly interact with each of these aspects. In my school, one of the climates can be called friendly because the class with which I studied consisted of good children. This has helped me a lot in my studies, as the educational system’s climate affects students’ motivation. Thus communicating and making new friends, I felt that I had support and I could always share my problems with someone and get advice. Thus, a close-knit team has become one of the main factors in increasing my academic performance. At the same time, all the circumstances in my school were quite successful, and no climate could interfere with my progress.

School performance was also affected by other factors that were shaped by the educational climate. They are the attitude of teachers to students. All teachers have always sought to help students if someone lagged behind the passage of the topic or did not understand it. Thus, a positive academic climate was formed, which contributed to the understanding of the different material presented. Teachers are an important part of the educational system, so their attitude toward students directly affects how children learn.

In addition to the mentioned climates, one can also highlight the influence on them of the environment in the classroom and throughout the school. The way the educational institution is equipped has an impact on students because it is one of the factors pushing children either to intensive study or to slovenliness (Ballantine et al., 2021). In my case, the school was equipped with all the necessary equipment, which positively affected the students’ success. Equipment, especially for conducting experiments in chemistry, physics, and biology classes, has a strong, engaging effect on students. This helps them become more interested in any subject in order to subsequently decide what exactly they would like to do in life.

The learning process at school is influenced by many factors that relate directly to students and teachers. They can be both positive and negative. However, some aspects of school life that influenced the formation of the worldview of students can only appear in their adult life after many years. In the shorter term, the impact on students’ perception of school is primarily due to their social environment. Those children with whom students communicate are the determining factor in how the student will relate to the educational process. If their relationship with their peers is not well developed, the perception of the school will be something that causes inconvenience or even humiliation and pain. In addition, vice versa, in the case of a well-connected team, children and adolescents will enjoy spending time at school. Such interactions can also have a positive impact on a student’s academic performance.

The hidden curriculum at the school is a separate program that is not included in the formally approved one. Such a program allows one to reproduce the social class of students and determine what future profession suits them best. This way, informal presentations broaden the curriculum and allow children to view more school material. This has a positive effect on the educational outcome, as students learn more information and can find their calling in something that was not in the formal school curriculum. In addition, the implementation of such schedules can significantly enhance the role of the school as an agent of socialization. This happens because, during the passage of a separate program, the forms of interaction between students do not have a rigid formalization. Thus, children can communicate as they consider most convenient for themselves.

Conclusion

School culture is different in all educational institutions and consists of a number of factors that are shaped by ethical standards. Thus formed school culture can greatly influence the climate in a positive or negative way. The way a school conducts itself can determine the conditions that will affect students’ academic performance and their desire to attend school. If the team is formed and friendly towards each other, then students can be more motivated to successfully achieve educational goals. On the contrary, in the case of persistent negative behavior in the classroom, such as bullying or racial injustice, the motivation of students will be extremely low. This, in turn, will affect how students will relate to the educational institution.
