Introduction
Meeting new experiences has always been an important aspect of my life. On the 17th of October 2021, at approximately 08:10 am, I had the honor to visit the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, which is located at 85 Elm Ave, Delmar, NY 12054. The visit was accompanied by two other chaplain candidates, 2LT Hulla and 2LT Sluyter. The main purpose of the visit was the review the key advantages of the service performed at the Lutheran Church.
Main body
The visit on the 17th of October was my first time visiting any Lutheran church. This added a special interest and excitement to the discovery of the ceremonial aspect of the service that was performed in a similar way to the Catholic manner. The first impressions were formed right at the entrance to the church, where Vicar Jessy Wilson stood with warm greetings to everyone entering. Additionally, there was music in the background, which also influenced the atmosphere. Other elements of the interior included the projector aimed at prompting and instructing the congregation on the far right side of the altar, hymn books, the Bible, and the church bulletin placed at the entrance of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. All elements acted as an appropriate addition to being in the church.
There were aspects of the process that surprised me and piqued my interest. One such aspect was that the church bulletin was informative on the guides and prompted the congregation during the service. Further, it was all of a sudden to see a lot of senior citizens who seemed to be in their 60s and 70s as part of the choir. This demonstrates that church staff truly serve God, regardless of other characteristics. In keeping with the sermon, the church choir performed the song “Take My Life.” The song was performed in a suitable manner and in accordance with all processes without breaking the harmony.
Through the help of the Holy Spirit, Rev. Mark Mueller preached an impressive sermon called “Transformed by the Gospel.” Additionally, the bible reading was performed according to Mark 10:23-31. During the preaching, he informed the public that he was synching with what was on the projector. After the end of the service, the Lutheran church representatives were glad to carry out a full-fledged presentation and were introduced to us. After the end, like the beginning, the same farewell procedure took place. Rev. Mark Mueller was standing right at the entrance of the church and sincerely said goodbye to everyone. This was an important gesture for me, as it gave the impression of belonging to the Lutheran church, its representatives, and its members. There was a feeling of unity with this process.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I would like to say that I was impressed by the service that was taking place in the Lutheran church at the time of my visit. This was an important and new experience for me, as in the modern church, the process left a positive impression on me from beginning to end. The Bethlehem Lutheran Church I attended also creates a unique atmosphere of belonging to the church members. The church staff each took part in the process and was really happy with the visitors, and also the organization and ability to involve other people in the mission, purpose, and thought had its results on the atmosphere.
