My dear Members of Parliament,
I believe you all already know about the tragedy which happened to the company General Motors. According to the recent data, the company is heading into bankruptcy and it is only up to you now to save the company and people working for it as your decision will either let the company collapse or give it a second chance to start functioning as it used to and to prosper for the benefit of our country. As you know General Motors is one of the biggest American companies which specializes in producing cars and which over the years was showing great results in sales and gained the reputation of the company which is worth people’s trust and respect, Nevertheless, nobody can be insured from bankruptcy and what happened to General Motors could have happened to any other company, even as big and as respectable as this one.
I want to emphasize once again that you, my dear Members of Parliament, are the ones who can give General Motors the chance for revival, the chance to be in first ranks again, and to prove to you, to our country and its citizens that what I am asking for now and what as I hope you will agree for, was worth asking for. Believe me, passing the bill which will give funding to General Motors is a very good idea and the money spent for this funding won’t be spent on anything. I assure you that the company will use this money most wisely and you all as well as the citizens of our country will see the revival of the General Motor’s industry and will be able to observe its turning into a prosperous company again. I appeal to you to give your consent, and I hope it will be common consent, for the passing of the bill allowing funding General Motors which badly needs our help now. What I am asking from you is to support this company as you are the only ones who have powers for that. This bill is worth passing and I am sure that if you agree to sign it you will never regret it in the future.
First of all, the company will always be grateful to you for your assistance and for showing your care and compassion as well as desire to help when it was in need and when you, dear Members of Parliament, took the right decision to pass this bill and to save the company. We are here in this world to help each other and bypassing the bill you will give a great example to those who can help others but for some reason do not do it. Changing the world is in your hands now, my dear Members of Parliament, because such an insignificant to the first sight deed as passing the bill may result in something bigger with time and, who knows, maybe people inspired by your generosity and your ability to help those who are asking for it will follow you as an example. And thus, taking after you, they will continue changing the world for the better.
Secondly, the successful passing of this bill will be of great help to the car market. I believe you will agree that if such a company as General Motors runs bankruptcy the car market is very much likely to experience a great crisis which will cause disturbances in the world market thus making our citizens worry about their future, which will arouse our citizens’ distrust in their government. What I am going to remind you now is that our biggest objective here is to ensure people that they can be confident in their government and that our citizens should be our primary concern. Think about this and admit that making our citizens worry about their financial welfare as well as their welfare, in general, will undermine their trust in us thus making our country weak as the country can never be mighty if its people distrust their government.
And finally, a huge amount of people working for General Motors now will lose their jobs if the company goes broke. My dear Members of Parliament, now you can see that you are responsible not only for the functioning of General Motors as such but for the destinies of hundreds of people who work for this company. Please, take into consideration that those people have families and have to support them and if you stay indifferent to the situation you will be the ones to blame for the misfortune which may happen to these innocent people.
So, my dear Members of Parliament, all I can say now, is that I call each of you to pass this bill as quickly as possible because you can deal with the problem of the company very easily and you will save General Motors and people working for it. Thank you very much for your attention!
