It is an unrestrained ground which creates a structure of concepts that an individual stands for. Early theorists, including Socrates, Pythagoras, and Aristotle dynamically participated in these studies and attempted to explain realities, thus coming up with diverse and extremely fascinating presumptions.

Socrates

Socrates was a Greek logician who provided thoughts on morals through breaking down the topic into questions and seeking views from his associates. The followers would then reveal their beliefs and knowledge on the topic, and slowly eliminate those which have some contradictions. The remedies to the questions would then be synthesized to come up with a strong conclusion.

This method is still used in the present society, for example, in using suggestions at the onset of the methodical study. It is mainly used to coerce an individual to display beliefs in a topic and later validate the reality of the faiths. It is fascinating to note the notoriety of Socrates in asking questions which he never gave answers for, claiming that he had no comprehension of the topic.

Socrates argued that moral principles must come before anything else in life including family and employment, hence the moral, political and intellectual disagreements that he had with his fellow citizens.

He claimed that those ideas were his teacher’s ideologies, mentioning several scientists as his mentors. Many of his ideas characteristically contradicted with familiar knowledge. For example, he states in his earlier work that the only thing he comprehends is that he recognizes that he knows nothing. This points out that his wisdom was based on his unawareness.

He believed that the best form of living was not striving for affluence and material possessions, but rather to achieve mental, bodily and spiritual improvement. Concentrating on social principles and acquaintanceship would visualize one as being successful, hence leading to harmony in the populace.

He lived up to his actions when he accepted to die rather than to go to exile, due to his beliefs of virtues which challenged the administration. Virtue was his most prized possession, and he took every opportunity to spread it to the populace. It was the most imperative value that a person would boast.

Aristotle

Aristotle, another Greek thinker who profoundly subjected the present western viewpoints, did not allow any distractions from practical and political motives. He was totally engrossed in his speculations in several fields, thus displaying his intellectuality.

His thinking about virtually any considerable issue was to come up with a common analysis technique, in order to perfect understanding of reality and why effects are in their current state. He studied any available topic, which ranged from geography to literature and made significant contributions to them.

His philosophy involved examining occurrences of the normal world. He explained that science can be divided into theory, poetry, and practice. Ethics and politics were part of practical science while poetry encompassed the study of the arts. Physics and math were part of conjectural science. His writings on science were more focused on quality rather than quantity, providing the viewpoint that nature is constantly changing, and it is vital to study these changes in order to interpret which constants cause the changes.

His studies in metaphysics came up with conclusions suggesting that any substance is an arrangement of both material and shape. There is a universal form of objects with which we relate and offer comparisons.

There are all universal objects are attached to existing things. In biology, he gave evidence of the digestion process and how the four chambers are interlinked. He further classified living things as those with blood against those without, a method which is still being used presently to define the complexity of the structure of the organism and their functioning.

He believed that all natural courses of action were steered by intellectual reasoning. Creatures were given only the necessary characteristics to survive, and naturally preserved a balance between the qualities that organisms had. For example, there is no need for a beast to have both horns and tusks. Humans were seen as superior because of their ability to reflect on their thoughts, unlike plants and other animals which only had the ability to reproduce or move.

Philosophy and the real world

Philosophy challenges conventions which are held in our existence. It stresses the need to live a pure and straightforward life. Some of the techniques invented by these philosophers are being used in both math and law classes to deduce results form both instructors and scholars. Philosophy brings out the need for us to examine our lives to attest evidence of the significance of existing. Philosophy guides the real world on research related to what is affecting society.

Society displays resistance to various values of those who choose to question its decisions and considers such people to be a peril to humanity. Morality has always been attributed as the basic influence in realizing triumph in existence. Gratifying things in life, for example maintaining friendships and having virtue, are thus seen as forms of success in our existence.

In life, the importance of group discussions on a topic from a point of ignorance, collecting different views, ultimately leads to a coherent ending. Discussing issues together eventually leads to more ideas hence a better understanding of a topic. Philosophy is concerned with acquiring knowledge and gaining ethical skills to deal with the environment.

Some philosophical notions are not well understood in society. Defining what a deliberate exploit is has been a challenge due to several contradictions with the philosophical definition. Philosophers believe that a deliberate exploit is usually controlled by the condition of mind of the performer. Modernly, deliberation in an action not only depends on whether it is intentional but also relies on the results of the exploit.

Cultural and religious beliefs matter when trying to understand the philosophy. Women may be seen to be inferior to men in some societies. Aristotle’s point of view that women are not wholly human is applicable in this scenario. When one philosophy is doubted, the others will undeniably face some form of examination and intolerance. These kinds of philosophical influence have divided the opinions of some of my friends who refer to it as ancient views and methodologies.

Conclusion

There have been several disapprovals by modern scientists on the theories that these philosophers formulated, for example, most of Aristotle’s facts. The fact that these ancient philosophers broadened our reasoning and helped in the discovery of several scientific phenomena cannot be clouded by these criticisms.

The study of morality has remarkably improved the lives of many, based on the sacrifice these philosophers made to the extent of giving up their lives. It would be difficult for philosophers to come up with original theories to counter these criticisms to regain its previous sureness, which influenced westernization. It is evident that man now requires new philosophies daily, which will be tested and discarded depending on the outcome.
