Introduction
I now view politics in many different ways. Because of the discussion we have had regarding politics, the political system, the relationship of sociology and politics, and even the economics of politics, I realized that politics affects all individuals, the society, the country, and even the very way that the populace lives.
Politics consideration
First, politics can be considered a form of governance. In this aspect, politics involves the leaders of the city, state, or of the whole country. There are prime ministers, presidents, governors, senators, mayors, and the likes. These are the leaders with whom the entire populace has entrusted to lead and govern the people. Politics, in this aspect, therefore is the system that upholds the laws and policies for the people and by the people. It is the system that unites the people. It is the system that represents the whole society, the people of the country. If the politics had some problems, it will then be a reflection that there is a problem within the country itself.
Secondly, politics can be viewed as the people. It is imparted in our history that we have politics even from the very beginning. It was the people who initiated the first political systems that we just have developed and reintegrated in today’s modern times. Some of the modern people whose names can be easily attached to the word politics are Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, and George Bush among others. These are just of the leaders who have made an impact on the county they lead. These are just of the people who have used politics to make their plans to and for the people and the country into a reality.
Politics may also be viewed as the bridge to development. With a good political system, the support of the United Nations and all of the concerned citizens comes in. Economy, population, health, education, and all other aspects of the society will then have a smooth flow. The real picture is that politics is in the middle of them all with a two-way line attaching to every part.
Politics can also be viewed as the source of all evil. It is the venue where the hunger for power, fame, and money would normally start. This is the very reason why some people who have been involved in politics ended up being ridiculed by others. There are some people who, because of so much thirst to remain in power, forget the responsibility for the state and the people. These are the people who have tainted their names and chose to become corrupt and thus lead the country astray. Because of this particular view of politics, some people would always say that politics is dirty and not a very good venue to be involved with.
Conclusion
Indeed, because of the reading and discussions that we have had in this entire semester, I learned and recognized not just some people, but also the different forms of leadership and governance that are all related to politics. I can therefore conclude that politics is a combination of people and the country. Everything in between is a detrimental part to the success or failure of politics.
