I was very interested to realize that there is an opportunity for me to apply for a post-doctoral program in Pediatric dentistry. I have always had a passion for children and when I joined the UPR- School of dental medicine I hoped that one day I will advance and work as a pediatric dentist. I have gained a great deal of practical experience for the years I have worked in general dentistry. I believe I am up to the task for that job and the following brief description will echo this position.
Dentistry like any other field of Medicine requires careful attention to offer the best practice necessary to alleviate human suffering in the best way possible. Over the years, technological advancement has been realized to make the practice more comfortable and convenient for both the patient and the dentist. However, this has necessitated the restructuring of training programs to keep up with the changing technologies. I believe I have gained enough knowledge regarding this and I am ready for the tasks involved in pediatric dentistry.
I am a hardworking lady with a great personality. I have excellent interpersonal skills and this has offered me the tool to score great successes in teamwork situations. Thus, I believe I am qualified to perform pediatric dental duties, as such duty requires a person with not only the necessary skills but also with the proper personality for comfortable interaction with the children.
I have gained sufficient experience in general dentistry in the course of my practice. I attended the UPR- School of dental medicine which laid the foundation and equipped me with the necessary knowledge required to practice general dentistry. I have had sufficient work experience going up to 5 years which has exposed me to all the duties and responsibilities of a dentist. I will briefly outline the various places and positions I have held in the field of dentistry.
I first worked as a dental assistant in the summer of 2005 in Caguas, P.R. After leaving the UPR dental school in 2006 I spent the next one year in private practice before joining the General Practice Residency at Randall VAMC for a post-doctoral program in general dentistry. I left the Residency in 2009 and I have been working as a general dentist for a dental Company. In addition, I have three dental licenses for New York City, Puerto Rico, and Florida. The details on this information and the academic achievements can be obtained from the resume attached.
Being included in this postdoctoral program will be a major step towards fulfilling my desire to work with children for who I have a lot of passion. In addition, it will be a perfect chance for me to advance in education and be more responsive to the wider societal needs for medical services. This will inevitably boost my profile which will be beneficial for the children I may help and the community at large. Finally, it will be a boost for the even shrinking professional base required to provide adequate medical care for the societies.
I am hoping for your kindest consideration for my application to gain more knowledge and serve in this special field of pediatric dentistry.
Thank you.
