By their nature, research methods are divided into approaches designed to solve the stated research objectives through the distinctive framework and analysis tools involved. Among the common mechanisms, one can distinguish qualitative (results in narrative forms), quantitative (results in statistical and digital form), and mixed (both approaches), primary (raw data) and secondary (data from other studies), as well as descriptive (results through measurements) and experimental (experiments as analytical tools) research methods (Taguchi, 2018). The selected research topic is to study the attitude of respondents towards eco-friendly products through surveys, which means that a qualitative research method is applied.
Research Design
As a design for the study in question, the data collection design is the main approach. The information from the involved participants is collected and analyzed, which is the main algorithm for obtaining the final results and making conclusions. Since the views of the study members on the issue under consideration are the main source of assessment, this design is reasonable and consistent with the stated goals.
Sample
As a sampling method for this research, the random principle has been used. No individual demographic characteristics are the crucial reasons to engage as the study members; the 80 participants involved are of different gender, job title, educational background, income level, and age. This sampling approach helps avoid bias because people from different social backgrounds are surveyed, which allows obtaining the most objective picture possible and making credible conclusions.
Data Collection Procedures
Surveys were the main tool for collecting data from the participants involved. A total of 18 questions were asked, which took different study members from one to 30 minutes to answer. The entire data collection procedure was conducted anonymously, with a primary focus on assessing the sample’s perception of eco-friendly products, including their purchasing intentions, general views on such goods, as well as personal recommendations.
Questionnaire
The main objective of the performed surveys was to find out the attitudes of the surveyed members towards eco-friendly products. In addition, the study members were asked about their post-pandemic purchasing intentions for these goods. According to the surveys, the vast majority of people have confirmed that their buying intentions would not be changed after the pandemic, and they expressed different views on the initiatives to promote such products.
Analyses
The selected statistical methods related to simple calculations to elicit the appropriate outcomes from the surveys. More specifically, the descriptive statistical analysis was utilized to group the research data into a table and present the main results in an easy-to-read form. No other complex mathematical calculations were used because the task was to identify general trends in the perception of eco-friendly products but not unique statistical correlations.
