The final presidential debate was one of the crucial points which would impact the election outcome. Although both candidates presented their perspectives and proposals succinctly, one can observe that Donald Trump had a better performance. It is especially true in comparison with the previous debate because POTUS was able to control his interruptions. In addition, there were some elements of the discussion, which worsened Biden’s image and perception among the public. One of the key highlights of the final presidential debate is the Hunter Biden scandal, which revolves around the information leaked from his laptop. Trump was able to push on the issue by making the Biden family’s reputation weaker. Regardless of whether the information is verified or false, the consequences of such a scandal will be manifested in the election outcome.
Another key moment where Trump was able to dominate is a discussion on fracking and the oil industry. Biden’s stance on the problem was not clear, and the majority of times, he contradicted himself by stating that he would not ban such a practice. However, it is evident from the previous speeches that he had proposed a fracking ban. Trump was able to pressure Joe Biden on the issue by outlining how some states might oppose the VP’s proposition. Therefore, one needs to understand that although the bulk of the voters had already made their decision regardless of the debate, many undecided citizens will be affected by it. The impact will be manifested in some of the neutral voters shifting towards Trump, especially in states where the oil industry is the main economic driver. In addition, some people who were going to vote for Biden might not do so altogether due to the scandal.
