Introduction
Both management and leadership positions require supervision. The pioneer is the one who plans and produces, while management is responsible for carrying out and maintaining what the pioneer establishes. In essence, those in positions of leadership have people following them, whilst those in positions of management have people working for them (Clay-Williams, et al, 2017).
Discussion
Since they frequently set the direction that is taken by managers, the leadership would be the primary decision-makers. Having said that, I would have to say that management and leadership are inseparably linked. The management is responsible for managing their direct reports as well as for leading, motivating, and developing the employees (Carpenter et al., 2013). I believe the merging of leadership and management roles is a result of enterprises’ evolving needs, as evidenced by the C-suite pioneers.
Moving back to Houston, Texas from Atlanta, Georgia, and remaining in a similar situation while working from Houston was a previous decision I made, but it didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. I claimed that I had moved because of a promotion when I made my 9-month journey to Atlanta. After my father suffered an accident, my family decided it would be best to return home. I decided to continue working and assured my boss that there would be no problem with me keeping the job(Clay-Williams, et al, 2017). To break down the position and plan step-by-step how I would make it work from Houston against why it would not work and in the case that I planned to just leave the post, I employed the levelheaded decision-making model. Before approaching my boss, I wanted to be aware of the benefits and drawbacks so that I could rationally explain to him how I would make it work.
Knowing my past propensity would be my test when I looked back on the choice. I turned in my abdication today, and although I thought I would make it work, I believe this was probably the least unexpected outcome. Another test involved modification and tying down. Simply because of the situation, I was in the adjustment was made to reflect what I would need to do to succeed in the role and take into account my manager’s demand for a fluid advancement as well. I didn’t contemplate the possibility of leaving the company; I only saw this as a way to make the two players happy(Clay-Williams, et al, 2017).
Conclusion
In conclusion, even though I gave my 2-week notice, my supervisor felt misled and had HR inform me that tomorrow (Friday) would be my last day and that I needed to turn in my PC and identification today due to the degree of classification. I’m starting a new job around the end of the month, and I plan to take fourteen days off.
