Writing well is a skill that very few people are blessed with; some have this inborn talent in them while others develop it gradually as they venture into it. Many people have made a living out of writing and will continue to do. The likes of JK Rowling, Sidney Sheldon, etc are some of the most prolific writers. This paper will throw light upon what it takes to be a writer and I will put myself in the shoes of a writer.

Writing requires persistence; a person without persistence can never be a good writer. I have developed this quality over the years and I have started exploring many new areas which were unprecedented to me for instance initially when I started off, I was a bit reluctant to refer to the dictionary but all that has changed for the better now. Another important quality which a writer must possess is the readiness to explore; exploring is always good and improves a writer on the whole. Reading and writing go hand in hand. A person who is hesitant to read can never be a good writer, hence I have understood this important thing and I have been working upon it for quite some time now.

A good Vocabulary is one thing that any good writer is expected to possess; a person can never become a good writer if he fails to develop his vocabulary. There are many ways of improving vocabulary but the easiest way is to read as many books as possible. I have understood this and I have been reading books for quite some time now. A good writer always uses the most appropriate word at any given place and this is done over a period of time, hence it is extremely important to have a good vocabulary.

Cohesiveness is one of the most important aspects which any good writer is expected to follow and the thought process should never get wavered, it should always follow the right direction and even this quality comes after a lot of practice. I have been writing quite a few articles to improve my Cohesiveness and I am improving every day. Since Newspapers contribute immensely toward the growth of a writer, I have made it a point to read the newspaper every day. Whenever I come across any inspiring quote, I always make it a point to jot it down; this is how a person becomes a good writer. Wikipedia is a sea of opportunity and can help a person grow as a writer, it also helps countless people across the globe by providing them with the information that they require the so it is development and growth overall. I have been contributing a lot toward Wikipedia and it has given me a lot of zeal and confidence.

Many important qualities that a person must possess have been singled out in this paper and I have understood each aspect. The implementation process has been slow but I am making steady progress as a writer and I am very confident that I am going to get better with time.
