Subject and Purpose
I am writing to suggest a research project and request permission to investigate a topic that will benefit our business. I would like to research the adoption of remote work regulations and their influence on employee output and job satisfaction. Given the growing popularity of remote work engagements and their possible benefits, our company must evaluate the efficacy and ramifications of such policies (English, 2022).
This study will provide evidence-based recommendations on how the organization may optimize remote work practices to increase job satisfaction and staff productivity. The key audience for the project is our company’s decision-makers, who have the authority to adopt the suggestions resulting from this study. The research will assist the administrators in making decisions that will create an effective workforce that will benefit the organization and its customers.
Scope
The research will cover the following subtopics:
- A comparison of remote work practices used by various businesses.
- An analysis of the associated advantages and disadvantages of remote work.
- The effect of remote work on staff efficiency and satisfaction with their work.
- Best techniques for overseeing remote teams and encouraging cooperation.
- Evaluation of the technology infrastructure needed for effective remote work implementation.
The following are some of the limitations of the study:
- The paper will not address the legal and regulatory elements of remote work regulations, but will focus on operational and management concerns (Tsipursky, 2022).
- Due to the broad breadth of this research, the study will not investigate the influence of remote work on particular job functions or departments within our firm.
Research Method
I intend to use a mix of primary and secondary research methodologies to collect data for the proposed investigation. The primary research will include conducting interviews and offering questionnaires to a sample of our workers who have previously worked remotely (Roller, 2022). I expect to recruit a sample of at least 50 employees, with the interviews being conducted on company premises during Week 4. The interview questions and questionnaires will be designed specifically for the study. Company records on the performance of the selected employees will be reviewed for additional information.
Secondary research will include analyzing the existing research literature on the topic. Specifically, it will involve studying pertinent literature, trade periodicals, and industry publications on remote work rules and their influence on organizational performance (Bruner, 2021). Sources like Harvard Business Review, The Economist, and Bloomberg Businessweek will be explored.
In addition, I will search online databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect, for information from research undertaken by specialists in the subject. The key terms that will be used for secondary research include “remote work,” “work-life balance,” “work performance,” and “job satisfaction.” The research will show that remote work is an effective practice that can translate into high job satisfaction and performance.
Timeline
Below is the timeline proposed to complete the research project:

Week 3
- Request permission from management to administer questionnaires to employees in the organization (Kitagawa et al. 2021).

- Carry out interviews with the sample remote employees.
- Start data analysis.
Week 5
- Finish data analysis.
- Identify the main themes in the research.
- Start drafting the research project.
Week 6
- Polish and finalize the report.
- Perform an internal review and request feedback from stakeholders.
Week 7-8
- Edit the research project.
- Proofread and assemble the final document.
- Submit the project.
