The main task of project managers is to properly organize a team of specialists and competently direct the process to achieve a result that would satisfy all stakeholders. Additionally, when a company introduces new technologies, it is necessary to provide staff training (Hillson & Simon, 2012). This will enable them to start working effectively with the innovation quickly, making the business more efficient. The manager’s role is to facilitate change at Global Green Books Publishing, encourage learning, and establish successful communication.
The Problem of Hiring Staff and the Solution
Global Green Books Publishing received many new and complex orders before the New Year, but could not fulfill them efficiently. As a result, Global Green Books Publishing’s business reputation was significantly damaged due to the improper hiring strategy.
To address the problem of incompetent employees, the manager should assess their desire to work for Global Green Books Publishing and offer specialized training. Furthermore, a new recruitment process should be conducted if the staff members are not interested in development. Accordingly, the manager should discuss each employee’s expectations and prospects (Hillson & Simon, 2012). After recruiting a team ready to develop, it is essential to distribute roles among them, considering their professional skills, personalities, and communication characteristics for effective teamwork. In this case, the manager should act as a guide who can highlight the positive qualities of employees and engage them in teamwork.
The Challenge of Team Management and Its Solution
The company had a problem with insufficient qualifications and several employees, but even the existing employees needed to perform more systematic work. Therefore, there needed to be more team management and the distribution of roles among employees depending on the stages of work or the specifics of the tasks. To solve this challenge, the project manager should establish effective communication between staff and management, with the possibility of feedback. In addition, providing employees with training and conducting professional recruitment is imperative. The manager also needs to use the organizer’s abilities and create a division of labor divided into specific stages for employees to perform the part of the work assigned to them effectively. This will help Global Green Books Publishing to address the existing problems and increase staff productivity.
