Child abuse is rather an important topic that is tackled by many types of research and surveys. This is also the most widespread problem within society. While trying to prevent child maltreatment and neglect, one can only see the failed attempts to improve the situation. Therefore, this problem should be openly recognized and discussed in different aspects, including social, cultural, and economic ones. As proof, one of the main preconditions for child neglect is low standards of living and lack of education. According to Siegel et al.(2007), “children who grow up in poverty are eight times more likely to die from homicide; five times more likely to have a physical or mental disability” (p. 11).
Based on the above, it is necessary to identify the conditions of child abuse like the quality of family relations and improper upbringing. There is an urgent necessity, thus, to create special communities encouraging the promotion of a healthy way of life and sound psychological environment. Therefore, this protocol presents evidence of child abuse and neglect for further testing procedures. It also tests the efficacy of different preventive measures that can be applied to improve the situation. In this regard, it is also to survey different strategies and solutions proposed by organizations and to provide the evidence for the testing to be reliable and valid.
As it has been mentioned before, there is apparent evidence stipulating the child abuse investigation. In addition to this, there are also numerous activities presumed by the pre-testing that can lead to the invention of an alternative mechanism for solutions. Based on the above facts, the pretesting should include the following goals:
- The first step to be taken is to investigate the poverty level and its relation to the problem of child abuse.
- It is vital to analyze the policies established by different public health communities and the way they perceive the problem of child maltreatment.
- Then, it is necessary to indicate the effects of activities provided by different communities toward health promotion among children.
There are different techniques implemented to prevent child abuse and to tackle its effect properly. It is necessary to investigate what opportunities for children to thrive are presupposed by different communities. In the light of this, The Community Tool Box presents the strategies for preventing child inappropriate care thus introducing some social changes for the schools, health organizations, businesses, and governmental establishment (Fawcett et al., 1996). The mobilization of society can be also achieved through conducting surveys and interviews for an objective implementation of the correspondent programs. The implementation of the market research is not of minor importance as well.
Further on, the implementation of social change is largely executed by means of the application of technology and online services in particular. In this respect, The Organizers’ Collaborative suggests the use of technology for social and cultural change (Organizers’ Collaborative, n. d.). In particular, the organization has launched the projects of use technology conference, free software, free training programs for low-profit and non-profit organizations. Viewing their strategies in the light of our problem is an effective means for giving publicity to child abuse and for raising awareness among the population. On whole, the choice of the target group for testing is rather relevant, since children are the least secured layer of the population.
