Provide project time management including planning schedule management, defining activities, and sequencing activities, estimating activity durations, and developing the project schedule.
Planning Schedule Management
The management will create a schedule management of the project.
The following must be completed first:
- The scope statement.
- The working breakdown structure (WBS).
- The approval of the final budget.
- Agreement on roles and responsibilities.
- Acceptance of final deliverables.
It is expected that the management team will create and plan a schedule management of the project. Prior to this process, it must however complete the scope statement and the working breakdown structure (WBS), obtain the approval of the final budget, agreement of roles and responsibilities, and acceptance of final deliverables.
Task completion would improve planning of the project schedule.
The project manager will be responsible for:
- Assigning roles.
- Project Schedule verification with sponsors and stakeholders.
- Getting schedule approval.
After the approval of the schedule, the project team will:
- Perform various roles.
- Sequence and deliberate on the activities of the party.
- Review the allocation of the given activities to the project.
Once these event tasks are completed, it would be simple to plan the schedule of the project. The project manager will have the overall responsibility of assigning roles to ensure that all aspects of the project are on schedule for the dinner party. In addition, the project manager will also verify the schedule with the sponsors and stakeholders and get approval.
Once the schedule is approved by the stakeholders and sponsors, the project team will embark on performing various assigned roles, sequencing and deliberating on event activities. It is imperative to recognize that allocation for various event activities was also important for the project success.
Defining Activities
After the schedule approval, the project team discusses event activities.
Stakeholders have outlined event activities.
All activities will be obtained through interviews or workshops.
Event activities will be friendly and receptive to guests.
A dinner party is characterized by light moments and activities for refreshment and happy memories.
The project team will have an opportunity to prepare and discuss activities to be partaken during the event after the schedule approval. These activities are outlined by the stakeholders of the project and are obtained through interviews or workshops. Some of the activities expected in the project need to be friendly and receptive to the guests.
Dinner parties are usually characterized by light moments. Hence, refreshing activities and activities for happy moments have been selected. Some of the selected activities include taking of photos, bursting the balloons, creating toasts, listening to speeches, dancing, among many other activities. All these activities were approved by the stakeholders.

Further, the project team acquired important experience during organization of the dinner party, specifically collaboration with all stakeholders to generate acceptable list of activities. All event activities were scheduled for performance in a logical manner to demonstrate high sense of order and planning of the party. Besides, they also required to be allocated adequate time according to their relevance to this project.
