Nowadays, technology plays a crucial role in the life of people. However, there are many controversies and theories regarding the advantageous nature of technology, such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). While this RFID can be argued to do more harm, such as encouraging human trafficking, brutality, and kidnapping, it brings more value to society. For example, applications for RFID technology include data transmission, position identification, and security (Patel, 2017). As a result, RFID provides safety for the multiple actions of many people.
From a theological point of view, RFID can be negatively perceived due to religious precepts. The majority of biblical principles address interpersonal relations and specify how to treat one’s “brother.” In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus makes reference to the Golden Rule. “All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them” (Mat 7:12). This sums up everything the scriptures and the commandments teach. Hence, even from a religious perspective, RFID can be argued to contribute to the protection of the community. Along with the technological advantages of RFID, such as the prevention of abduction, kidnapping, and human trafficking, religious ethics cannot view this technology as the mark of the beast.
