Roswell Health Center also specializes in coordinating programs specifically for the HIV/AIDS patients and HIV orphaned children.
Vision statement
Roswell Health Center will be recognized as the healthcare facility that serves its community by establishing a culture that supports community-based care, patient-centered services, promotion of staff engagement and embracement of the latest and effective technologies and partnership with the community in order to improve the quality of life for all.
Specific strategic goals that align with the mission and vision statements
First, Roswell Health Center will use a community-based approach to ensure that its healthcare services are aligned with the need for meeting the health needs of the people in the community. The idea is to ensure that the healthcare services are provided based on the existing problems in the society.
Secondly, Roswell Health Center will ensure that it provides both on-site services and hospital-based care. This means that the services will include home-based care, outpatient, inpatient and ambulatory services. Roswell Health Center will collaborate with community-based organizations and institutions such as schools and public health organizations to ensure that it determines the healthcare needs of the society.
Roswell Health Center will use an interdisciplinary approach in which the employees, including doctors, clinicians, pharmacists, nurses, laboratory staff and other professionals will work as a team in order to ensure that the clients are served based on effective consultations and evidence-based care at all levels (Herskovits, 2011).
Effective adaptive strategies
To meet the above goals, Roswell Health Center will consider diverse adaptive strategies to ensure that the short-term and long-term approaches are addressed effectively. These strategies will include partnerships, financial and operations strategies.
Financial strategies
To maintain its financial viability, Roswell Health Center will rely on patient fees, recruiting of insured patients and the efforts for fundraising. Previously, Roswell Health Center has been depending on insured clients and patient fees only. The two methods will be combined with fundraising in order to ensure that the institution achieves its financial goals while also making sure that the services are not overcharged because the aim is to provide affordable and accessible healthcare services (Swayne, Duncan & Ginter, 2012).
As such, a matrix of grants and donations will be pursued. Local and national donors will be involved in the fundraising efforts, including nonprofit organizations that seek to improve community-based healthcare provision.
Operational strategies
Roswell Health Center will operate under an explicit business approach with a leader who understands the business needs of the organization. It will implement strong business leadership with effective business control, organization and planning. The leader will have both clinical and business skills in order to manage the practices and financial process of the organization (Herskovits, 2011).
In addition, Roswell Health Center will maintain a strong customer-based approach as the central component of the institution’s operational strategies. Roswell Health Center will be highly dependent on face-to-face communication and paying special attention to the returning customers through discounts.
Partnership strategy
Roswell Health Center will involve the key strategic response of initiating and strengthening the collaborative relationships with the community-based organizations and private sectors such as local hospitals, utilization of volunteers in providing healthcare and participation in indigent drug programs. In particular, the collaboration with the Indigent Drug Programs (IDP) will be an important strategy for Roswell Health Center because the IDP tends to provide hospitals and clinics with subsidized drugs, especially at a time when the drug prices are rising rapidly (Ginter, 2012).
The dependency on the collaborations with community providers will establish a continuity of care. Community-wide collaborations will be involved in order to address the healthcare issues affecting the healthcare sector, including access to healthcare services for the uninsured individuals.
Service delivery and support components of Roswell Health Center’s value chain in achieving the strategic goals
Service delivery components
Roswell Health Center will adopt the basic components of healthcare delivery defined by the American healthcare system. The four functional components of the healthcare delivery are insurance, financing, delivery and payment. They are necessary for the delivery of the healthcare services in any healthcare providing institution.
They form the quad-function model of healthcare delivery. At Roswell Health Center, the financial component is a critical aspect of service delivery. The hospital requires costly diagnostic tests, medical intervention procedures and lengthy hospitalization of the clients (Herskovits, 2011).
Therefore, financing will be a necessary component of service delivery in order to obtain health insurance or payment for these services. Roswell Center will follow the normal strategy of including health insurance, self-pay, parent-based payment and employer-based financing methods.
Insurance will be a major component of the company’s service delivery. In this context, Roswell Center will develop a number of packages for healthcare services in order to accommodate the diverse nature of the available insurance services for the clients. For instance, employer-based and company-based insurance services will have their special payment packages for the services rendered to their clients.
Delivery is also an important aspect of the health service delivery at Roswell Center. As mentioned above, skillful professionals will drive the company’s delivery system in order to enhance the value chain (Pynes & Lombardi, 2011). Roswell Health Center seeks to include teams of professionals in all fields of medicine. In addition, the quality of materials and equipment will be a major component of service delivery. Quality medicine, medical equipment, machines and other facilities will be installed and maintained to ensure that a high quality of the value chain is achieved.
Support components of service delivery
To enhance the quality of the value chain at Roswell Health Center, the support components of service delivery system will be vital. One of the major components is the organizational support, the concept that will be used to address the culture, leadership as well as practice of the organization. The company will strive to achieve an ideal practice with a unique culture that allows an optimal management of patients in order to improve the key aspects of the value chain (Ginter, 2012).
For example, Roswell Health Center will be committed to support change and quality improvement through incentives and recognition of the healthcare workers. The idea is to improve the confidence and working conditions for the employees in order to ensure that they relate well with the patients and support them in the appropriate manner (Anderson & McDaniel, 2010). Secondly, clinical information systems will be used as a major support component of service delivery.
For example, the management of data on individual patients and the health of the general population will need adequate and effective clinical information system. The CIS will be highly structured in order to ensure that it organizes patient, population and the provider information and data and describes the health of the general population. Therefore, it will be used to facilitate the efficiency and effectiveness of the care services and enhance the value chain in general.
Finally, an effective system design is an important support component of the service delivery. It will be used to address the composition and function of patient visits, the function of the practice team and the flow of information. For example, Roswell Health Center will employ an effective and efficient clinical care using the appropriate team members, regular follow-ups, planned interactions and management of cases.
Reasons why the delivery and support components are essential for the achievement of the company goals
First, as an organization, Roswell Health Center cannot function without a dedicated team of skilled professionals. The dedication of the individuals must be a product of employee motivation, which can only be achieved through an effective leadership (Anderson & McDaniel, 2010). Secondly, when the organization has dedicated and skilled personnel, it becomes necessary to improve the quality of services using the proper financing methods.
For example, the skilled personnel cannot work without machines, equipment, drugs and other supplies. Therefore, financing is the vital aspect of the value chain. Thirdly, it is not possible to achieve the proper financing without the appropriate revenue. The organization must make proceeds from the sale of services in order to ensure that the financing component is supported effectively. Thus, the source of income from fundraising, insurance companies and patients must meet the financial needs of the company.
Approach to maintain the adaptive strategies
To achieve the financial strategy described above, grant applications will be tied to the mission and vision of Roswell Health Center’s programs. Since the institution’s funding will be raised through the community sources, its active board involvement will be successful. The boards will be involved in soliciting and receiving funds from the local and national foundations because the aim is to ensure that the local community is not overcharged or denied the right healthcare services.
At the same time, Roswell Health Center must achieve its financial goals. To raise revenue, Roswell Health Center will increase the percentage of the paying clients recruited rather than increase the fees. However, this calls for more human and material resources (Pynes & Lombardi, 2011). Therefore, the best idea is to balance between the percentages of the paying and insured patients and enhance the fundraising efforts in order to meet the community demands for healthcare services.
In addition, Roswell Health center will focus on the improvement of the quality of services provided to the customers. To achieve this objective, the management will use 60% of the annual revenues to meet the demands of quality care services. This amount will be used to increase the wages of the employees in order to recognize their efforts and increase the volume of care services provided to the customers.
